Hey, everyone! Just a few quick reminders about the earth tremors we'll be having on Saturday the 4th, Tuesday the 7th, and Friday the 10th!

INFORMATION ON THE EARTH TREMORS:

• Characters should not be in any major danger from these earthquakes!

• There will be noticeable ground-shaking, and superficial damage may result from that if you so choose!

• The tremors will last for approximately fifteen seconds at a time.

Every part of Johto/Kanto will be experiencing these tremors!

• Both cities and routes will now experience the shaking!

Inland cities and areas near mountains and caves will still be the most emphatically hit by the quakes.

• Crystal shards that characters kept from our Fourth Wall event back in May will continue to vibrate during the quakes.

• Now, the shards will also continue vibrating for five minutes after the tremors have stopped.

Psychic-types will continue to experience headaches and agitation.

• Characters who participated in last year's Nightmare Castle event now may also become prone to headaches and agitation.

A REMINDER ABOUT GEN VI POKEMON:

• Because Swarm September is now over, Gen VI Pokemon can no longer be found in the wild.

• This will not be permanent; their availability has been suspended for the duration of this month's modplot.

• Gen VI Pokemon will also be uninterested in breeding for the duration of this month's modplot.

THE TIMING OF THE FORTHCOMING EARTHQUAKES IS AS FOLLOWS:

Saturday, October 4th: — around 9 AM EST

Tuesday, October 7th: — around 4 PM EST

Friday, October 10th: — around 11 PM EST

And since we're not content to go with just your ordinary Fourth Wall event for such a momentous occasion, we've added some extra twists to this year's event in the hopes of making it a particularly awesome one!

We will of course be linking our standard Fourth Wall Infopost for all of your informational needs; you'll find that link at the end of this post. But for now, please keep reading for more information on the other things that will be happening as this game reaches the conclusion of its fourth year of play!

Anything else I need to know?
From all of us at the modteam, thank you so much for four excellent years of gameplay. As is fitting for a game about Pokémon, we've evolved a lot in our time together, and we feel we've gotten all the stronger because of it. The heart of any game is its playerbase, and we sincerely hope we've stuffed you full of enough macarons to get you to hurry up and evolve into a Sylveon someda— wait.

...In seriousness, we love you all very much, and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the wonderful times and memories we've shared together. We can't wait to see what Year Five brings; let's all work together to make it an amazing one.

Hey, Routers! As another successful POKEMON PROM draws to a close, we just wanted to give you some final thoughts and bits of gameplay information that have changed or come to light as a result of the event!

And Here It Is! )

NOTE: Even though according to the IC timeline, PokeProm 2014 has now come to an end, we strongly encourage you to continue backdating your threads and tagging out to other people on the logs for as long as you like! This post is mostly just to make available some wrap-up details and chart out the course for our next horizon!

If you have any questions for us, please feel free to ask them here! Otherwise, please feel free to use the comments of this post for discussion and feedback for us on what you liked about prom, and how we can keep working to make it even better next time!

Hey, Route! With Valentine's Day looming on the horizon and coming up fast, and a few weeks of rather unusual weather heading your way, we've accordingly got a little event for you!

As some of our oldbies may remember, about this time last year we had Operation: Lovebug, complete with a blackout designed to help foster the dwindling populations of Volbeat and Illumise around the regions. Well, the good news is, the populations are back up to optimal levels this year, so a repeat performance won't be necessary!

The more interesting news is, this year there's going to be a swarm of a slightly different variety...

And here are the details on it! )

Happy Holidays, Route! We're getting towards the end of the month, and if you've checked the Calendar lately, you've seen that we're in for snow, snow, and more snow right up until the 25th! But a White Christmas Holiday Season isn't the only thing the snow is bringing...

Starting late in the evening on Sunday, December 22 and carrying through until 5:59 AM EST on Wednesday, December 25, both regions will be invaded by a Stantler swarm! But this isn't your average Stantler swarm, so make sure to read carefully for how this may affect your character!

It'll Go Down In History! )

REMINDER: for people intending to participate in the end-of-the-month Halloween Plot, your characters should be experiencing their final nightmare at some point on Thursday, October 17th!

If you're intending to participate and haven't commented to our Headcount Thread yet, please do so! This is your LAST CALL to join the roster of people participating; as of 11:59:59 PM on October 17th, we will be closing the Headcount Thread to determine the Official Number™ of people going on the plot. This tally will help us calculate the "number to beat" for determining whether players have won the plot!

Standard Reminders:

• Nightmares may take any form the player wants, so long as they are in fact nightmares.
• Each nightmare must involve at least one Pokemon currently on the character's roster.
• After tomorrow's (October 17th) round of nightmares, every Pokemon a character signed up on the Headcount Thread with should have appeared in at least one nightmare.
• Characters do not have to dream about "losing" their Pokemon, even though these nightmares are foreshadowing their eventual loss; the Pokemon can appear in the nightmare in any way, so long as they appear somehow.
• To be a part of the end-of-the-month plot, your character must experience these nightmares.
• Characters who experience the nightmares are welcome to back out of the plot at any time before the end-of-the-month segment begins, free of consequence.
• Characters who do not participate in the nightmares may not later join in on the end-of-the-month part of the plot.

DAY 29/7. 23:30.

And so the invasion closes! )

And with that, we conclude this event! We hope you guys had fun and will enjoy your new and not-so-shiny fossil Pokémon.

However, we’re not quite finished yet! There are a few more details we need to go over, and these are pertaining to our dear Team Rocket. We gave them a few things to think about and plan when it came to the event in their own community, and as such there are a few things the rest of you guys need to be aware of!

Oooh, those wascally Wockets! )

SOMEWHERE OVER ROUTE 2
DAY 21/12. 23:52.

The noises kept resonating throughout the world, the ground shaking and the sky in chaos, torn between hail and rain and lightning; the winds were merciless as they gathered around the golems that barely seemed to notice. They were in the middle of it all, protected from their work of slowly pulling up the earth and undo what they’d done long ago.

The reporter had to scream over the rotor blades to be heard when she tried to get words into the mike. It was terrifying flying like this in the middle of what everyone was calling the worst … what? storm, day, anything known to man. The weather could make them crash – or the helicopter could malfunction any second. The camera was flickering too, she could tell from the red light momentarily going out.

And below and ahead was what could only be Registeel, red glowing eyes in a circle barely seen through the wind and snow.

“As you can see-” her cameraman lifted his hand up as much as he dared before he was holding the camera again, close, like a life line – “As you can see, there’s no sign of any of this stopping- there are many speculations but nothing is-”

There was a movement any other pilot would call turbulence but theirs simply called, “shit!”

She took a moment to gather herself and then went on. “Professors have been called in and there are rumors of a Hoenn specialist working with the police to put an end to this but things are increasingly critical in Blackthorn and Pewter, I’m getting reports that at least one Center is destroyed and there are several power outages all over the re—Sam!”

They’d worked together long enough to understand each other and Sam, the cameraman, didn’t think twice before he scooted over, balancing precariously for a moment on the tilted helicopter floor before he found a safe place to hang onto and could aim his camera in the direction she was pointing.

… None of them had ever seen anything like it before.

It was light, bright and disruptive in the darkness of the storms; high in the night sky for all to see as beams of warm light spilled through the clouds.

Before the reporter could say anything about it or the cameraman found time to even react, the light seemed to gather itself up in one single, shining point (something small, so very bright) before it exploded outwards in a single shockwave –

And just like that, whatever end they’d all been facing was … gone.

Or, well. Mostly.

They left a mark. )

And a surprise! )

PALLET TOWN
DAY 19/12. 19:41.

"Professor Elm, come listen to this!"

After patting a friendly little Charmander on the head, Elm carried over a tray of two mugs to the small table in Oak's laboratory. They had a third mug sitting by the little stove in the kitchen as they awaited their third guest, but until then, it was just the two professors, having a little get-together. Oak sat in his favorite chair, a book propped open in his lap. As the younger professor joined him, he began to explain.

"Long ago," he read, "an ancient Pokémon pulled the continents into position with ropes. Once the continents were settled, an image had been created, depicting three Pokémon: The first was Regirock, grand and solid, made of clay. The second, Regice, from the land of frozen water, ice. The third, Registeel, from fire and magma. These three Pokémon were so powerful at the ancient people were afraid, and thus, they knew they had to seal them away."

Elm looked over from his mug of hot chocolate, raising an eyebrow. He knew of the legend, but why was Oak reading it now? Better yet, how did he get a copy of that book?

Oak smiled, but after a quick sip to wet his lips, he was quick to continue. "Using ancient magic, they sealed the first pokémon away in Snowpoint Temple, while the three created from it were soon taken away to a new land. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel were then sealed in three chambers, kept away from all of mankind to prevent the destruction of our Earth. When together, they would evolve into Regigigas, which the townspeople feared would only result in destruction. The ancient townspeople hoped that one day a trainer would be strong enough to train that Ancient Pokémon, and with that, the three sealed away. Those sealed chambers rumored to be located in present-day Hoenn."

Looking back up, Oak stroked his chin. The idea that ancient, destructive pokémon were sealed away that close to where they were was actually rather unbelievable, but knowing what they had witnessed in all of their years: unbelievable was just another possibility. Judging by the look of contemplation on Elm's face, the idea caught him off guard as well. But he was quick to bring up a speculation:

"You don't suspect that the rumors are true, do you?" he asked. "Because if so... there's a chance either one of our newcomers or one of the trainers--or even a Rocket--would be able to find a piece to this mystery. And if that happened..."

"All doom would be to befall the Earth," Oak answered. "If no trainer is around to control them, the mere releasing of such a pokémon would only result in destruction."

Elm set his cup down, folding both hands together. "You wouldn't suppose the latest changes to the weather are resulting in this, are you?" he asked. "My assistant mentioned something about the blizzard being an unforeseen weather change."

Oak frowned at this. "It's... been a long while since we've had snow growing this quickly. I had suspected another Lugia encounter myself, but if it's Regice..."

Elm frowned. "It couldn't... No one's found signs on this legend even being a certainty. We're probably getting worked up over nothing."

"Certainly. After all, it's just a legend."

Both professors leaned back, retrieved their hot chocolate, and took a sip in unison.

And, as if on some sort of dark, fateful cue, the door swung open, revealing a man in a heavy coat, shorts, and slippers. It only took a second for the two professors to recognize him.

"Professor Birch!"

"Hey, guys! Sorry I'm a little bit late! But you won't believe what happened on my way here!" The third professor shut the door and began removing his layers, completely undisturbed by the fact that his legs had remained bare in the snowy climate. "But apparently one of my scientists found some hidden clues in the Desert Ruins that point to a legendary pokémon!"

Oak's eyes widened. Elm almost choked on his drink. But neither spoke, letting Birch stare at them in a confused silence before he continued.

"You guys know of the legend of Regigigas, right?"

Oak frowned instantly. They were doomed.

It's the end of the world as we know it... )

Team Rocket still came out on top. )

And so this plot winds down! All powers should be gone by now, but the mutations will stay with you for quite a while. Feel free to enjoy the side effects while they last.

Remember that the Saffron, Ecruteak and Goldenrod Pokémon Centers will be down until September. Until then, temporary camps are set up, where people may volunteer to help out with various chores or construction. For now, they’re setting up free computers and healing areas to care for the wounded people and pokémon, but at the moment there are no healing machines in these cities which means that the quick healing will be unavailable for now. Stock up on potions!

Another important thing: the Gyms in Blackthorn, Mahogany, Vermillion, Ecruteak, Goldenrod, Saffron and Violet will be down for two weeks thanks to Rocket attacks.

We hope you enjoyed this event and if you have any questions or would like to know more, feel free to contact a mod!

Hello, Route! Pretty sure you all remember the legendary beasts that visited last time something went down? Well, Team Rocket’s been pretty busy with what they took from those beasts before letting them go. And the result of whatever they did? Well … They figured out a way to get powers. Yep, we’re doing a power plot!

(Don’t get too excited though, because you’re not getting your own. At least, not yet. We wanted to make this somewhat more organic than 4th wall.)

This event will start on July 9 and last for roughly three weeks until the end of the month.

wait wait wait what's going on? )

Did you think the plot was winding down?

No, no--the plot was winding up.

Bad End. )

There will be a log set up for the events at Route 7, and you can check out the updated calendar for a timeline. Let us know here if you have any questions!

NOTE: from the 9th to the 12th, due to power outages, rescue efforts and the horrible weather, all gyms will be closed. Normal operation will resume once the beasts are gone and the weather clears.
