PALLET TOWN
DAY 19/12. 19:41.

"Professor Elm, come listen to this!"

After patting a friendly little Charmander on the head, Elm carried over a tray of two mugs to the small table in Oak's laboratory. They had a third mug sitting by the little stove in the kitchen as they awaited their third guest, but until then, it was just the two professors, having a little get-together. Oak sat in his favorite chair, a book propped open in his lap. As the younger professor joined him, he began to explain.

"Long ago," he read, "an ancient Pokémon pulled the continents into position with ropes. Once the continents were settled, an image had been created, depicting three Pokémon: The first was Regirock, grand and solid, made of clay. The second, Regice, from the land of frozen water, ice. The third, Registeel, from fire and magma. These three Pokémon were so powerful at the ancient people were afraid, and thus, they knew they had to seal them away."

Elm looked over from his mug of hot chocolate, raising an eyebrow. He knew of the legend, but why was Oak reading it now? Better yet, how did he get a copy of that book?

Oak smiled, but after a quick sip to wet his lips, he was quick to continue. "Using ancient magic, they sealed the first pokémon away in Snowpoint Temple, while the three created from it were soon taken away to a new land. Regirock, Regice, and Registeel were then sealed in three chambers, kept away from all of mankind to prevent the destruction of our Earth. When together, they would evolve into Regigigas, which the townspeople feared would only result in destruction. The ancient townspeople hoped that one day a trainer would be strong enough to train that Ancient Pokémon, and with that, the three sealed away. Those sealed chambers rumored to be located in present-day Hoenn."

Looking back up, Oak stroked his chin. The idea that ancient, destructive pokémon were sealed away that close to where they were was actually rather unbelievable, but knowing what they had witnessed in all of their years: unbelievable was just another possibility. Judging by the look of contemplation on Elm's face, the idea caught him off guard as well. But he was quick to bring up a speculation:

"You don't suspect that the rumors are true, do you?" he asked. "Because if so... there's a chance either one of our newcomers or one of the trainers--or even a Rocket--would be able to find a piece to this mystery. And if that happened..."

"All doom would be to befall the Earth," Oak answered. "If no trainer is around to control them, the mere releasing of such a pokémon would only result in destruction."

Elm set his cup down, folding both hands together. "You wouldn't suppose the latest changes to the weather are resulting in this, are you?" he asked. "My assistant mentioned something about the blizzard being an unforeseen weather change."

Oak frowned at this. "It's... been a long while since we've had snow growing this quickly. I had suspected another Lugia encounter myself, but if it's Regice..."

Elm frowned. "It couldn't... No one's found signs on this legend even being a certainty. We're probably getting worked up over nothing."

"Certainly. After all, it's just a legend."

Both professors leaned back, retrieved their hot chocolate, and took a sip in unison.

And, as if on some sort of dark, fateful cue, the door swung open, revealing a man in a heavy coat, shorts, and slippers. It only took a second for the two professors to recognize him.

"Professor Birch!"

"Hey, guys! Sorry I'm a little bit late! But you won't believe what happened on my way here!" The third professor shut the door and began removing his layers, completely undisturbed by the fact that his legs had remained bare in the snowy climate. "But apparently one of my scientists found some hidden clues in the Desert Ruins that point to a legendary pokémon!"

Oak's eyes widened. Elm almost choked on his drink. But neither spoke, letting Birch stare at them in a confused silence before he continued.

"You guys know of the legend of Regigigas, right?"

Oak frowned instantly. They were doomed.

Hello citizens of the PokéWorld! So we've got a bit of excitement popping up for you.

But first off, we'd like to point out the gorgeously extreme amounts of snow we'll be having this week. It will start off light, a nice dusting, but as the week progresses, so will the snow. It'll be a nice few centimeters by the latter half of the week. Have fun, start a snowball fight, build a snowman! But please dress warmly and be careful, as the temperatures will be very cold late in the nights. Travel will be more difficult, especially for those not accustomed to the frozen temperatures.

So we hope you guys had fun with that little happy snowfall! As the week's progressed, the snow's gotten heavier and heavier, but unfortunately, things are never as gorgeous as they seem. (You guys know us by now.) Well, by the 19th, it'll be near blizzard weather. Heavy snow, strong winds rattling windows, and even frozen rain and hail. It wouldn't be strange to see lightning, although it will just be enough to light the skies a bit. From now until the 21st, there will be very small bits of static interference on the Gear. It's not much, maybe just a second or two of weak connection, but that happens every once in a while, right? And maybe the television changes channels every once in a while.

But on the 20th, that's when the tremors begin. A bit of shaking here and there, some rumbling every few hours, and... Golems.

Those three golems, slowly creeping from the other end of the blizzard sandstorm of static and looming in the background. If you can get your television to work on these days, you might catch a glimpse of them on air. Otherwise, if you can brave the weather, you may be able to see them a bit more up close.

You can't fight them, but you can try. They don't care to fight back, but the attacks will do nearly nothing to these large, sneaking monsters creeping in on you. On the contrary, the attacks will do nothing but help them grow. The power from the attacks builds up the energy inside of them, increasing their height, weight, and energy levels. Depending on which one you encounter, whether it be Regice, Regirock, or Registeel, you may be faced with stronger blizzard and painful hail (Regice), a sandstorm mixed with the freezing rain (Regirock), or horrible static interference setting off your pokégear upon reaching an area (Registeel). But you wouldn’t be so foolish as to try and interfere, would you?

Most often than not they’ll just carry on with their work, undisturbed by anything else; they will will cause property damage, destroy buildings, and possibly injure pokémon and trainer alike. Despite the amount of news coverage, there are very little answers. The Jennies' efforts of bringing this to an end are futile and no one's sure what to do. They've just advised everyone to stay indoors, stay safe. There is no stopping them - you can only run or hunker down.

Then, on the 21st, another figure makes itself known: the legendary Regigigas, seemingly emerging to join its brethren.

And between them, they bring The End.

As always, Questions go here! And from your friendly neighborhood mods, Happy Apocalypse!

Can the Regis be communicated with? I mean, I imagine they won't have much to say, but can people who have that ability at least try to talk to them?

They can try to talk to them, but they're not going to reply.

How do we know where the different golems are at a given time? Will they just be stepping through each and every town, or...?

I do have a belated question! Would these legends be discoverable at all, via reading or research? Or are they secret somehow?

I ask because if it is ICly obtainable, Aradia would probably eventually do a post about the legend of it, just because she likes stuff like that and would think people might be interested!
