Yes, that's right, Routers and PokéFans! Pokémon Prom is once again coming to a Route near you, and we're incredibly hype to be bringing it to you one last time before the transition into Victory Road.

(There's still one more event between now and prom, but since prom tends to be a pretty big event, we wanted to get this out to you with a little time to anticipate and plan!)

So let's get right to it, with what you can expect from this year's PokéProm!

4th WALL WEEKEND!
GOBBLE GOBBLE EDITION!

The event will take place from Friday, November 27 through Sunday, November 29!

That's right, Routers, it's that time of the year again! The fourth wall is about to come tumbling down — and as some of you may have guessed, this time it's coming courtesy of your very own Legendary, who's been suffering some growing pains lately as it settles into its new, post-Mewssingno form. As a result, the fabric of space-time is bending a little bit, and you know what that means...

As is usual for our semi-annual 4th Wall events, following the cue from a mod post, there will be a loud crack and a flash of white light in our regions of Johto and Kanto. When your characters blink a few times, the scene before their eyes will return to normal... however... there will be a lot more people, or beings, in the cities, or along the routes, or even just trolling about on the PokéConnect.

Paths will be absurdly easy to travel, or, if you want, uncommonly difficult. It can take as long or as little as you want it to in order to go from city to city, and you can check out whatever building you want. Hell, if your character is accidentally caught in the glitch, they may wake up in an unfamiliar place!

From Sunday, the tree has been making its rounds.

As midnight comes, the familiar flash of light is accompanied by bright spurts of colors, and the fluttering of paper. As the light dims into darkness, a strange fog of sleepiness falls across everyone, welcoming them into a settled dreamland.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

I hope you guys made your wishes already. If not, feel free to continue doing so. Items begin appearing in the morning, starting at sunrise. A curious little pokemon begins to make his rounds by mid-afternoon. But a mild mess of items remaining, items that may have been wished for during the Fourth Wall, still remain in the cities. Things are a mess.

At approximately 8:00 AM on Monday morning, one message appears on every Rocket's gear:

Agents -
You all have one mission: Capture the pokemon Jirachi.
You have seven days. The one(s) to bring him to us will receive a wonderful bonus from The Boss.

The Wishes are underway. If you have any questions on this, please ask here.

Following the first two chaotic days of fourth wall...

In the early morning of Sunday, May 31st, a small beam of light shines from beyond the horizon. The chaos from the past two days continues to run amok, but something just feels a little different. Call it a hunch if you want, ignore it if you feel like. But soon, you hear something:

It's a small, youthful voice that whispers, "Do you have a wish?" Is someone around you? Whispering from a distance? Or merely an echo in your mind? Who knows.

During the day, wish trees appear in every city. Colorful strips of paper lay in a small basket next to it, with a small piece of ribbon tied to it: write a wish, tie it to the tree. Given a slight wind, some pieces of the wish paper drift away from the city and along the trails.

On Monday, June 1st, as the portal to many other worlds glitches and closes... your wishes will start to come true.

What's summoning these wishes?

Jirachi!

Reputed to have the power to grant wishes, Jirachi only awakens for seven days every thousand years.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR... )

As per the usual, normal is nothing but unrestrained chaos.

What did Team Rocket do now? )

So your days of interest are as follows:

May 28: last day for Rocket members to sign up for traveling
May 29 - May 31: Fourth Wall Event
May 31: Jirachi awakens. Wish trees begin.
June 1 - June 6: Wishes galore! Last day to submit a Scenario for bringing Jirachi to the boss.
June 6, evening: Jirachi returns the world to as it was, and is captured this
same night. Winner of writing scenario is revealed!

5TH ANNIVERSARY?!
4TH WALL SEASON!??!
3 DAYS OF CHAOS!!!!

Fourth Wall will take place from Friday, May 29th through Sunday, May 31st!

That's not all.. See Part Two of this beautiful plot in the next post.

And just as midnight strikes, a large clap of thunder echoes through the sky as lightning engulfs the surroundings once more. It doesn't take long at all, but rain clouds scatter in, and soon, it's pouring. Assisting with the new wave of uncomfortable sleeping powder in the air (thanks again, Professor Elm), there's a light fog, a haze encouraging everyone to dream away the past few days, that will clear up before sunrise. The rain stays a little heavy until early morning hours, leading into scattered showers once the sun rises.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

As the music returns to normal, the scenery remaining untouched as it had been as of Thursday evening, things fall back into place. The footage on the gears remains as it had been filmed, although the times and dates are all missing. It's not too hard to remember what took place, but the professors have nothing to say about it.

If you listen closely, you may hear a softly spoken, "We're sorry," upon waking. Was it someone in the room? From your gears? A pokemon? Who knows.

To assist with forced normalcy, station 18.5J - Let's All Sing, has decided to celebrate the season of celebrations by playing a plethora of holiday songs, of many different holidays, and some songs of many holidays in one. They'll be playing this until New Year's.

Anything else I need to know?
From all of us at the modteam, thank you so much for four excellent years of gameplay. As is fitting for a game about Pokémon, we've evolved a lot in our time together, and we feel we've gotten all the stronger because of it. The heart of any game is its playerbase, and we sincerely hope we've stuffed you full of enough macarons to get you to hurry up and evolve into a Sylveon someda— wait.

...In seriousness, we love you all very much, and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the wonderful times and memories we've shared together. We can't wait to see what Year Five brings; let's all work together to make it an amazing one.

An odd broadcast appears on the Gear that night:

DAY 26/11. 23:56.

It seemed as though a spare pokégear has been connected to the network, the identification labeled as 'TEST' under Trainer ID 0000000. The view was from a low angle, most of the screen showing a dark green floor and a plain gray wall. Suddenly, there's a whisper of a 'poof', and two sets of feet, clad in sneakers and slacks, run past the screen.

"Professor! Professor! There's been another sighting--it's in Blackthorn!"

"Blackthor--??" Elm began to repeat, but his voice immediately halted.

As it faded, view of the white wall was obstructed by a large, metal shape. There was a sparking sound, before the soft whirring of a machine powering down. A new set of feet appeared on screen, old worn, comfortable shoes, making a calm but brisk stride towards the silver being.

"Ah..." The voice belonged to Professor Oak. "...so this is it."

"Eh!?" Elm's voice echoed in the background. "So that's--"

A flash of light engulfed the room, the screen flashing a complete white. As both professors yelped in shock, the view suddenly went black as the connection terminated.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

Pokégears and clocks once again register the proper time and date. The background music returns, and everything quickly drifts back to the spastic familiarity that this world has to offer. You may find yourself waking up in a location you don't remember falling asleep in, possibly still wondering if this is a dream or not.

This footage is the only physical reminder of these past three days. There is no way to respond, no identification tied directly to that gear, and despite the recognizable voices, the professors will deny any knowledge of the video's existence. Did it truly exist?

...in addition, Professor Elm's office will be closed for the next few weeks.

Now, back to battling with you all!

GOLDENROD CITY
DAY 03/06. 00:01.

"--and then I told them to scram before I hit them. Really, I don't get it. It's been six whole months and the Johto factor's being hit with these strange visitors. I don't know what's causing it, but whatever was built..."

Ariana glared over at Petrel from the desk her pokégear pressed against her ear. She was in the middle of a conversation, but her eyes and her mind were roaming in multiple directions. One: this room was still empty, large and simple. The wall had been repaired, for the most part... There were still a few holes here and there, only small enough for the rodent-types. However, it wasn't the holes that were the problem: it was the space, the vacant, empty space, that shouldn't be there. The machine had been gone for six months, and she was surprised the Boss hadn't skinned them alive.

And two: They needed to find it. Grunts had been going on search and rescue missions for months, all to no avail. And here she was, making a call over to Hoenn to see if she could collect any information. Even Proton was out doing a bit of scouting on his own. But here she was, being the only one productive in this trio of nonsense. Archer stood by the window, merely watching the chaos with his mug of hot coffee--in this heat? What was his problem?!--while Petrel...

"It's that youngster kid's," Petrel explained once he caught Ariana's eye, still petting the rodent in his arms. "I dunno, she seems kinda fond of me. Probably looking for a new trainer. If she's in the top ten percentage of her type, I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted a new one."

"...hey, you two. It's quiet outside," piped in a third voice. Petrel glanced over to Archer, who finally released his hold on the curtain he was holding. "The visitors are gone."

"Heh. Guess they weren't staying this time either, huh?"

That was when Ariana angrily stomped her foot. "Are you two even listening to me?! We need to find the machine, not worry about these stupid intruders or a dumb Rattata!"

Petrel turned to the little pokémon. "It's okay, she didn't mean it. She's just cranky."

Ariana rolled her eyes and kept talking to her Hoenn contact. "Anyway, as I was saying... uh-huh? Yeah, my team is as much of a nightmare as yours. W-wait, Annie, are you there? I think your reception's going bad-- Annie? Where'd you go!?"

Normally, the Gears worked perfectly. Perhaps a Rotom got into the system again? With a heavy sigh, she just stared at the screen, trying to see if the reception had been compromised, but the only thing visible on the display was one application's start-up menu, animated circles bouncing underneath one simple phrase: Gotta draw 'em all!

"What?!"

And that concludes Fourth Wall! We hope you enjoyed your new encounters with our bi-yearly visitors. However, the confusion doesn’t quite end here!

IT REALLY ISN'T OVER YET, YOU GUYS ... )

GOLDENROD CITY
DAY 31/05. 01:29.

She sniffed the ground. There was just something intriguing further down this little corridor, to the special room in the back of the building she didn't really know, something that grabbed her attention the moment her nose picked up the scent. Something... kind of shocking, but she didn't know what. She had been coming here for months; there was a nice man, always in black and red, who would leave her a few pokétreats by the door. He never had them close the hole, and he always had a snack waiting for her.

She returned as she always had, through the little holes in the hallway, curly purple tail bouncing behind her, and slipped in through a small hole in the floor. It had been growing steadily for a few days now, but it was masked by a long hole on the wall and a giant silver box standing in the way. Something about that box flickered strangely, and as she sniffed her way over, she had a feeling it was something that had to do with it...

By the time she reached the room, she could understand why. The moment she entered, all she could see was electricity and Magnemite. The room was stiflng, heat strong and overwhelming enough that she could feel it in her two protruding teeth, and it made it hard for her little sensitive nose to take in the scent. The floor was even warm to the touch. Not to mention the crackling sound.

Something about that giant box was off, the little pokémon wasn't sure what.

...She'd have to tell Joey about this.

Well, if she could find him in the crowd.

4th WALL WEEKEND!
HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY,
ROUTE 29!

The event will take place from Friday, May 31st to Sunday, June 2nd!

I'm sure you've all see how beautiful our weather has been lately. The heat's gotten a little out of control, to the point where even the electronics can feel it. Our little machine, whom we all so dearly love, is definitely sweating in its circuits. In short, the heat completely fries and breaks it.

Because of this, Applications will be closed until June 15th-16th. (You may want to leave your plans kind of open until then, just so ya know.)

But it also means we get our bi-yearly weekend visitors. As the Rockets send out a squad to hopefully locate this machine, our yearly chaos runs amok for the rest of us.

That's not all! While the portal summoning the visitors closes at midnight, EST on Sunday, the chaos does not end there. But that's another story.

As usual, following the cue from a mod post, there will be a loud crack and a flash of white light in our regions of Johto and Kanto.

GOLDENROD CITY
DAY 26/11. 23:19.

"You LOST it?!"

Ariana's voice echoed outside the door to her office. Anyone in the Rocket headquarters could hear her absolute rage. But inside? Three rocket scientists and three fellow admins could feel the searing anger radiating off of her. She stood before those three scientists, all of which were on their knees before her, pretty much begging for their lives.

"We're sorry, Ariana! We're so sorry, Boss!" the first one cried, tears streaming from his face.

Petrel laughed. "You're pretty much doomed," he managed to choke out between laughter.

Proton shoved him. "We should feed them to the Sharpedo," he suggested, crossing his arms. "They've deserved it enough."

The middle one sobbed, inching a little closer. "Please don't feed us to anything! We didn't mean to! We just--"

"It was the magnemite!" the third one supplied, keeping his head bowed. He knew better than to look up and planned on groveling to the fullest.

"DON'T BLAME POKEMON FOR YOUR OWN INCOMPETENCE!" Ariana's rage flared again, and Petrel was quick to grab her before she kicked them. Her heels clattered on the floor as he tugged her back.

The scientists whimpered and all scooted back.

"Well, what should we do?" Petrel asked. Then, he turned to look behind him. "Archer, any ideas?"

Archer had been quiet. Although frustrated, his thoughts landed more on locating the machine than punishing the three grunts. He didn't answer the question just yet, head still bowed in thought. Petrel just rolled his eyes, turning back to the scene before him. "Proton?"

"Ground them into mulch and feed 'em to my Metagross," Proton replied.

Petrel found himself laughing. "That's meta-gross. Ariana's not answering. You losers, any suggestions on what we should do to you?"

The scientists whimpered. Their only options seemed to be 'pokéfood or death'. But before any of them had a chance to decide, Archer finally stepped from the wall, approaching them. "Lock them up. We'll figure their demotions out later," he replied. "But for now, we have bigger magikarp to fry. Like getting that machine back, for starters."

"Well, what are we going to do about those missing few days?" Proton asked. "We can't make the professors help us this time; and we don't even have enough sleep powder in reserve."

"So in short, we're doomed?" Petrel asked.

Ariana stepped on his foot.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

Pokégears and clocks will register the proper time and date. The regular background music returns, and everything is once again back to normal--whatever value one has of 'normal' in this world. You may find yourself waking up somewhere you don't remember falling asleep in. A different building, a different city, a different region, or even on the magnet train wondering why you're leaving Saffron City when you don't remember being in Kanto. The insanity just continues.

You may continue to backtag 4th Wall posts at your leisure! Thank you so much, guys!

Meanwhile, that machine, the one that controls how people come and leave the World of Pokémon, is now out of Rocket hands and is now mysteriously... elsewhere. Ominous cues? What ominous cues?
