Five years, what a surprise!

Following the first two chaotic days of fourth wall...

In the early morning of Sunday, May 31st, a small beam of light shines from beyond the horizon. The chaos from the past two days continues to run amok, but something just feels a little different. Call it a hunch if you want, ignore it if you feel like. But soon, you hear something:

It's a small, youthful voice that whispers, "Do you have a wish?" Is someone around you? Whispering from a distance? Or merely an echo in your mind? Who knows.

During the day, wish trees appear in every city. Colorful strips of paper lay in a small basket next to it, with a small piece of ribbon tied to it: write a wish, tie it to the tree. Given a slight wind, some pieces of the wish paper drift away from the city and along the trails.

On Monday, June 1st, as the portal to many other worlds glitches and closes... your wishes will start to come true.

What's summoning these wishes?

Jirachi!

Reputed to have the power to grant wishes, Jirachi only awakens for seven days every thousand years.

Jirachi is a small, whimsical little pokemon who likes happiness and fun. He'll visit just about every city for a game or two; he may snoop through your items, or just watch what you're doing. He's prone to napping and teleporting away if you spook him!

But isn't he cute?

Feel free to play with him, but he'll teleport if you try to capture or battle him! All work and no play makes Jirachi a sad pokemon, after all!

So until Saturday, June 6th, Jirachi will summon your wishes. As the days progress, the wishes may become more and more cluttered. Things will get tossed around and teleported to other areas. Bikes may go missing, people may get moved periodically.

Jirachi, being the playful little spirit he is, thinks this is all fun and games. But items become larger and more restricting, and they'll become a bit of a nuisance. Can you wish them away? Well... you can try, Jirachi may not deliver.

The Wishes:

The wish can be either physical or otherwise, but only physical wishes will be granted--asking for keepsakes from home, excessive amounts of food, and things that tangibly exist will result in the item being gifted to you. It can only grant wishes of things actually in existence--things imaginary or not yet created will result in that small voice whispering sorry and a new strip of paper appearing in your presence a few minutes later.

Bigger things like cars, planes, spaceships, even people's homes if so wished for, can appear; vehicles cannot run, as the gas will not come with it, and things may come in excess and create a mess or level a building. (What's Route without a few minor disasters?) Feel free to raid them, check them out, have it land on your bike, etc.

You can also wish to be with a person in another city or town; in this case, either party can be teleported to the other, or for items from another person. They'll wake up the next morning and appear there. Wishes won't all happen on Monday, so feel free to stagger then out through the duration of the week.

During this week, everyone will also find themselves just a little bit more lucky as well; going in for a pokemon battle may result in more narrow victories in underdog encounters, or higher probabilities of winning at the Game Corner. That super rare pokemon you've been camping out for might just appear for you. Other non-tangible wishes will result in really good dreams.

If you're unsure on a wish or have a question about one, just ask!

But what's the catch with these wishes?

These things aren't just magically appearing: they're being teleported. It's already somewhere else, be it home or in the regions: it'll be summoned to you. People, pokemon, items, it's all mere teleportation.

Do note: if you're wishing for someone else's items - you're actually getting the item directly from that person. Only do this with the consent of the other player.

Do things go back to normal?

Yes, and no. As the week progresses, Jirachi realizes the nature of his wishes

The night ends on a glorious meteor shower and a fresh rain. By morning, things feel a little fresher, nature blooming just a bit more. By the end, large-sized items will be sent back to where they belong. Things wished for in mass quantity may reduce back to just one. Some places will get wished back into being fixed, others may require renovations. Everyone gets 1-2 small keepsakes from home. And things go back to normal...

As per the usual, normal is nothing but unrestrained chaos.

Of course, Team Rocket wants in on this...

When do they not? The admins, well aware of the legend, are alerted by The Boss a few days ahead of town and are told to put Operation W!SH into action--capture Jirachi. Due to the sensitive nature of Jirachi's abilities, they decide to refrain from telling the other Grunts and agents about Jirachi's actual abilities. The records remain off the books, locked away in Petrel's office.

This is where Team Rocket gets a chance to shine -

Every Rocket volunteer will be stationed in the different cities in the regions, with explanation to stay there and wait for their cue from the Admins. Whether they stay there after the Fourth Wall, is up to you! There's no set restrictions on if they stay or not, but their mission to wait. Your city will be assigned to you by us on Thursday. On Friday, May 29th. helicopters will take the Rocket volunteers to their respective cities.

If you'd like to sign up, please leave a comment here. You have until 9 PM EST on Thursday, May 28th to do so. The list will be posted later that evening.

On Monday, a note will appear on each Rocket's Gear, delivering one very important message: capture Jirachi by midnight, use any means necessary. You'll get something out of it, certainly, but what will that be? You'll find out on Saturday.

So what happens to Jirachi on Saturday?

After the world begins to put itself in order, this is where the fun part happens - Team Rocket, you get a victory this round. How? A Writing Challenge!

Lasting from today to June 1st, members of Team Rocket are given the option to be the one to capture Jirachi by means of writing. Write up a scenario of your Rocket character capturing Jirachi, and submit it for mod decision.

- It can be either written as third-person prose or as a well-detailed summary
- Remember to stay in-character
- Be as creative as you want within logical boundary
- There's no word count and no limit

The winning scenario will be chosen by the mods and that character will be given an exclusive prize by the Admins. On Saturday, June 6th, as the plot draws to a close, the winner will be announced and the scenario displayed for all to see! All entries are screened.

If you'd like to participate, leave your scenario here!

So Team Rocket will end up with Jirachi? Will we have a time to free him?

They have won this battle, but that does not secure victory for the war...

Unfortunately, non-Rockets cannot participate in the Writing Challenge, but they can still attempt to capture the pokemon throughout the week.

But what about Jirachi? He'll stay captive in the Goldenrod base, until the Admins decide what to do with him. Rescuing will come in due time, fair trainers. In due time.

So your days of interest are as follows:

May 28: last day for Rocket members to sign up for traveling
May 29 - May 31: Fourth Wall Event
May 31: Jirachi awakens. Wish trees begin.
June 1 - June 6: Wishes galore! Last day to submit a Scenario for bringing Jirachi to the boss.
June 6, evening: Jirachi returns the world to as it was, and is captured this
same night. Winner of writing scenario is revealed!

If we're wishing for a person from home, will that be accepted? Or would Jirachi not be able to, and maybe give a keepsake from them instead?

predictable question is predictable i'm sorry

Quick question - I figure weapons aren't allowed, but what about completely depowered weapons? Nowi uses Dragonstones to fight, which are basically just pretty colored rocks with magical powers. Could she get one (completely depowered, of course)?

Is it possible for a Rocket to participate in the writing event without being transported to a city? Ilya has a birthday celebration going on in Celadon on the 30th so I can't sign her up for traveling.

Excellent, thank you!

Going with the depowered weapon thing, would Saber be able to ask for Avalon? This is the scabbard of Excalibur and without powers, it'd just be a hollow container. It's large enough to fit a two handed sword within though obviously she wouldn't have the blade.

I just like inconveniencing my characters with having to babysit large things

So when you say that things "not in existence" aren't allowed, does that include things that were destroyed?

For example, if I had Lapis wish for a reminder of home, would it be possible for her to receive the mirror she was once trapped in, even though it was destroyed when Steven pulled her gem out? Or is that not allowed?

If someone wished for a non-weapon item- For example, Wirt would wish for his clarinet and tape recorder- would he be able to keep the clarinet, at very least?

If Carlos wished for one of his scientific devices would that be able to stick around? I'm thinking specifically of his danger meter. The only thing it seems to do in canon is to tell him how dangerous a situation/person is and rate the level of danger.

Concerning the bigger items Jirachi can bring, is there a size limit? And would a castle fall within those limits?

Also, could a magical potted plant be kept after the event, if all its powers are removed?

Yay, thanks!

(And apologies to those poor Celadon NPCs who did not want a castle in their lives.)

Would something like a suit of armor be a viable object to wish for? :o Or outfits in general.

So if a character's home which they share with a canonmate appears for their wish, could said canonmate take something from the home and keep it when things go back to normal?

Like. Anna accidentally brought Arendelle Castle into Johto. Would Elsa be able to take something from her own room and have it still be with her when the event is over?
