It was almost clockwork, how these things happened. As the clock in the Admin quarters turned to midnight, a light flashed in the sky. It was as sparkly as always, a light engulfing the entire room, and it was almost warm. Petrel lifted his martini glass and took a sip, sighing softly as he reclined in his chair. Just two more days, and it would be time to see what legends were truly made of. That was what excited him most about the evening, knowing such possibilities were just around the corner. But for tonight, the loud, rowdy excitement of the days upcoming awaited his attention. He took another sip, then, out of curiosity, opted to pulling his Gear from his phone to call another coworker. "Need something, Petrel?" came Proton's slick voice. Wind gusted behind him. That was different. "I think I'm going to go out, enjoy some sightseeing. We've still got time, right?" "Yeah." "And you're out, right? Without reporting to the rest of us? Shame." Proton choked on words for a moment, and a silence passed between the two. Questions like 'how did you know' and 'will you tell the boss' surfaced his mind, but he then decided, there was something simpler to summarize it all: "It'll be our little secret." Petrel laughed. "Bring me a box of Cocoa PokeBalls and we'll call it even." "Done." The connection terminated between the two. As Petrel finished his drink, a nagging curiosity on what Proton was planning came to mind, but he knew he wouldn't get answers now. At least, not yet. But he still had a few days to worry about it. He took his time to head to the closet, grabbing one silver wig, and made his way to the doors outside.
