MAHOGANY TOWN
DAY 24/11. 00:12.

Three scientists were either too few or too many to handle this machine. They were all in a great mood; any difficulties that arose didn’t have to do with anything regarding the opposite. While each of them would carry out any Admin order with fearful respect (and okay, two of them with glee, too) this was the first job in ages that either of them had actually been excited for.

Because this machine was practically a legendary thing, massive in ability if nothing else, although the actual size of it was no laughing matter either. It controlled time and space in a way no one understood. And ultimately that reverence was something the higher-ups hadn’t taken into consideration, not to mention the curiosity these people possessed (and were the reason they’d been put on a payroll to begin with). So as the scientists crowded around the machine just to look, to investigate this technical wonder, it kind of turned into a scuffle.

Not because they wanted to mess things up. Not even because they didn’t like each other. In fact they were all friendly, which maybe made what followed just a little bit worse.

“Hey, move over, will you?”

“I was here first- wow, just look at this …”

“Is that-- dude, seriously, cut it out.”

They didn’t mean to, of course, but everything in life is an accident, at least according to … well, someone. So when one of them gave the machine a loving pat on the steel casing and another reached over him and someone somehow brushed against a button and something happened, well.

It wasn’t their fault. Really.

Sorry about the late notice, but with the tournament coming to a close, it's time for...

4th WALL WEEKEND!

The event will take place from Saturday, Nov 24th through Monday, Nov 26th.

With a twist!

You know how our lovely rockets have been having trouble... a lot of trouble, with this pesky little machine? Well, they decided to try to find a safer place for it, and late in the evening on Friday, nearing midnight, a few of the scientists begin the delicate procedure of safely relocating it.

See, the admins been a little suspicious of the new Rockets we've got on hand. While they've got quite a few good men from other worlds, the problem is that they're smart. Real smart. Smart enough to probably find where the machine is hidden. The main concern is - if they find the machine, would they use it to go home? That would shorthand the Rockets! Or worse! Use it for their own nefarious scheming, or even break and tamper with it! These are dangerous times... So after a quiet meeting held behind closed doors, they decided to move the machine out of Goldenrod. Talking to one of the Johto-native grunts, who was mysteriously promoted to Private recently, they decide to send a few pokénative rocket scientists off to Kanto to move the machine.

Unfortunately, they activated it. Cue the explosions, spontaneous teleportation, overpopulation, the "holy hell how did that get in my house" reactions, and the like.

The scientists, while all of you guys are trying to figure out what's going on, decide to continue the procedure. And then, they...

Well, all you need to know is that 1) the machine will no longer be in Rocket hands, 2) the machine will.... well, it won't be in anyone's hands, and 3) partial memory retaining.

What a twist!

See, in the process of losing the machine, the power used to erase everyone's memories has been completely pulled from anyone. The machine itself will correct itself in due time and send away all of the visitors, right any physical wrongs, and the like, but you can remember quite a few incidences that happen, very vividly. Not all of it, but definitely enough to know that weird stuff is going on. The memories will be a bit fractured and mixed up, but they'll at least be memories this time; even if you can only remember that sudden panic while standing on the the top of Mt. Silver, or the fact that Ash Ketchum handed you a pokéball and told you to dream. But why did you go up there to begin with? Weren't you eating dinner with Gary before that? Perhaps? It'll all be a little (or very) confusing, but now you'll know for certain you definitely weren't having odd dreams.

And do note that next time, it'll be even more different!

As usual, following the cue from a mod post, there will be a loud crack and a flash of white light in Johto. When your characters blink a few times, the scene before their eyes will return to normal... however... there will be a lot more people, or beings, in the cities, or along the routes, or even just trolling about on the PokéConnect.

Paths will be ridiculously easy to pass, or, if you want, ridiculously difficult. It can take as long or as little as you want it to in order to go from city to city, and you can check out whatever building you want. Hell, if your character is accidentally caught in the glitch, they may wake up in an unfamiliar place!

Thankfully, Proton was on top of it this year. As the chaos began to sweep across the regions, the phones had been going off almost nonstop. Ariana was displeased, Archer completely peeved that their security had been breached so easily. Needless to say, the sacked rockets were spending a few good days in the hole. A swarm of Gastly, being sent out from Rocket helicopters around the city, unleash mass attacks of Hypnosis at everyone they see. Wherever the Gastly don't hit, those wonderful Sleep Powder Bombs do.

And during those few hours of slumber, the machine powers up, powers down. The world shifts again, and those odd visitors, the strange guests, extra pokémon, demons, world-breakers, and the like--it all leaves, taking away every trace of evidence with them. Time, as usual, has not changed--it's still ticking, just as it had been during those three days.

Three days, completely gone. Entries from the PokéConnect have been completely erased, notes and photographs and news reports nothing but a mess of errors and destroyed wastes of paper. The residents, all of them save for three rocket executives (poor Petrel, he forgot his gas mask in the back office), wake up to memories of odd dreams that don't seem quite real.

Man, for those who have been here for two years, doesn't that just suck?

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

Pokégears and clocks will register the proper time and date. The regular background music returns, and everything is once again back to normal--whatever value one has of 'normal' in this world. You may find yourself waking up somewhere you don't remember falling asleep in. A different building, a different city, a different region, or even out on a trail or on that damn Ice Path you just left. Any pokémon caught or new friends met during the event will not be present or remembered in any sort of detail. Like a really strange dream that you know had some sort of effect on you, even if you can't recall the details.

You may continue to backtag 4th Wall posts at your leisure! Thank you so much, guys!

But that's not all...

Remember those swarms? ....YEAH )

As you all might have heard, May 29th of this year is Route 29's second anniversary. This game is nearly two years old! Can you believe it?! So, because of this, we've decided to make our semi-annual event a little special. Starting with...

4th WALL WEEKEND!

The event will take place from Friday, May 25th through Sunday, May 27th.

A few of the Rocket Grunts, born and raised in the wonderful land of Pokémon, have gotten themselves rather jealous over the fact that some of their foreign buddies have gotten promotions and are getting the chance to push them around. So, behind the backs of the admins, they decide to take it upon themselves to send these strangers home.

Needless to say, the machine does not cooperate.

Fourth Wall FAQ! )

But what's this other 'Anniversary Thing'? We have it on the Calendar for five SEVEN days!

Well, that's going to bring forth swarms. Not any normal swarms, not even any simple, casual, or tiny swarms. After all, these swarms are a big deal.

What's swarming? Well... just wait and see.

But for now, please pass around the news of the 4th wall to your buddies, old players and new players and random people and the likes! Let's have a blast in celebrating this game's second anniversary!

It took longer than expected--it always does--but the machine now sits inside the new base, under heavy lock and key, behind as many barred doors as they could physically manage. The rest stand silently behind him, mildly awed as he works, and all Archer does is try to replicate the angry wire-pulling from last time. Miraculously, it works. The machine dies for a moment, then slowly, with a gentle hum of power, returns to life. He turns to Ariana and orders a full-scale Sleep Powder bomb over all the major cities. She goes.

The world shifts. The foreign visitors, the strange locales, the sudden, incomprehensible pokemon appearances--everything goes, along with every evidence of their presence. Time, though, time is more difficult for the machine. Three days is three days, and when people wake they'll find time has passed seemingly without them.

Fourth Wall is now over!
Thank you for participating, everyone!

Pokegears and clocks will register the proper time and date. The regular background music returns, and everything is once again back to normal--for a relative value of 'normal', that is. You may find yourself waking up somewhere you didn't go to bed in. A different building, a different city, a different region, or even out in the wilderness. Any pokemon caught or new friends met during the event will not be present or remembered.

You may continue to backtag 4th Wall posts at your leisure! Again, thank you!

[[ Mod note: Apologies for the delay, my internet failed half an hour before the end of Fourth Wall and only just returned. ]]

MAHOGANY TOWN
DAY 09/12. 23:58.

Archer's in charge this evening—Arianna couldn't be bothered, Proton couldn't be found and Petrel couldn't be trusted. It was almost tempting to just leave it behind; it was doing its job just fine of transferring new recruits to Goldenrod thanks to some (minimal) tweaking, in any case, so why fix what isn't broken? Besides, every time they tamper with it, there's this niggling worry that everything'll collapse in a very bad way, and as much as Archer enjoys a little controlled chaos personally, he knows where his best interests lie.

Two Machoke carry it, quiet and obedient. A Rotom hovers overhead, keeping the machine powered during transfer. He didn't dare leave this to fumbling human hands. The Machoke move with dead precision, not a single movement wasted, like living statues. Lovely, if a bit creepy, to watch. When he speaks to them, their heads turn towards him at the same time, and it hits the uncanny valley just so.

"Be gentle."

There's really no stressing it enough. They nod, once, expressions blank, and adjust their precious cargo for landing.

The helicopter touches down at 23:55 on a secret landing pad out on Route 35. No awkward questions from the city citizens, relatively quiet, and inexpensive: just the way he likes it. They just need to get off the damn vehicle and get this machine into the base, an hour's walk away, and Archer can expect four hours of well-deserved sleep tonight. The thought almost makes him salivate.

Of course, his luck doesn't hold. Why does it ever? It's almost sad, because he'd thought of everything and they were so close and it wasn't even his fault or an oversight, or anything!

The Rotom, focused on keeping its Discharge at neat and gentle levels, bumps into the top of the helicopter door as they exit. Surprised, it surges—

White light—

Archer's last thought is that next time, he'll leave this shit to Petrel instead.

As you all know, due to the train plot, there was a bit of a delay in this, and for that we apologize. However, next weekend, on the 10th, 11th and 12th, we're proud to kick off Route 29's third...

4th WALL WEEKEND!

The event will take place from Saturday, Dec 10th through Monday, Dec 12.

Note:
Due to the Fourth Wall event, apps will be delayed until Monday night.

Following the successful moving of all the Grunts from Mahogany to Goldenrod, the Team takes on the arduous task of moving the very last item from deepest catacombs of their Science division: the completely incomprehensible teleportation machine. Since they had so much luck last time they did this, they're trying to be a little more cautious the second time around. And it works!

Until they have to load it out of the helicopter. Delicate operation, you know. Anything could go wrong--and something did.

Helicopters whiz in the air, and a gentle blue powder rains from the sky, blanketing everything. The powder begins to cloud about the place, getting into buildings, into the water, through the water... As people begin to gently cave in and slumber, including Ariana, Proton, and Petrel, Archer manages to reconnect the machine to the power socket. Messing with the gears a little, he angrily yanks out a cord, which causes a large flash. The machine, for the time being, dies.

A large shadow appears from the front window, reflecting white and gold from the glowing moonlight. And soon, an electric burst strikes from the ceiling and hits the machine. It reboots. Whatever had happened begins to... un-happen, before Archer's eyes.

The machine itself tries to fix what it had done, and it doesn't manage to end everything, but it does calmly reverse the majority of the damage. With it, it takes visitors, strange guests, foreign pokémon, proper memories...

Another glitch.

And yet another Fourth Wall has come to an end!
Thank you, everyone!

Five minutes of glitching and rebuilding pass, time trying to reconstruct itself but unable to make up for the lost days. Three days have come and gone with no proper reason why.

Your PokéGears register the proper time and date. You may wake up where you were transported, or where you had left off. Your pokémon may have leveled, but your party is still the same. You may or may not be missing items. Your mind cannot fully connect the details, but you know something strange just happened. Maybe you'll remember bits and pieces in a dream.

...and then the routine music continues and all is well. All is normal... or as normal as this place can get.

The event is done! All posts after this are back to the game's setting in normal time. If you want to continue your fourth wall posts, feel free to continue and backtag! Thank you!

MAHOGANY TOWN
DAY 28/05. 23:58.

"Ariana's in a foul mood."

"What else is new?" Petrel mutters as he passes Proton and enters the room. Ever since that Lugia slipped from their grasp, Ariana has been positively fuming. The three boys had made the smartest decision and left her alone to sort through her newest thoughts, and all three regretted when she paged them.

They glance around, spotting the woman on top of the machine. The machine, the mysterious, mystical contraption that had somehow begun sending strange people into this city. It had been locked up in this special room for good reason, touched only when necessary--like when it shorted power for a few weeks and Proton got to kick it when Archer's mechanical skills didn't work--but normally it was just a few tweaks.

To find their leader standing on top of the machine... it's startling, to say the least.

"Ariana... what are you doing?" Petrel drawls, walking closer.

Ariana points. "You! And him!" Her finger turns to Proton. She seems quite comfortable up there.

The other Rocket Admin spins around and looks up. "What do I have to do with this?" he asks. "I said I'd get him, didn't say I'd help... with... whatever you're doing."

"I need the manpower," she answers. "And this thing is heavy. I bet we'll have to call in Archer, too."

Petrel raises an eyebrow. She didn't answer his question, but he decides not to ask again. Instead, he goes over and attempts to give the machine a push. It doesn't budge. A few seconds later, Proton joins him and still nothing. After Ariana hops off and summons Archer, the three men push at the heavy technology.

That's when Ariana decides to summon her Drowzee.

"Use headbutt!"

"No, don't do that--" Archer tries to argue.

But the Drowzee already moves, crashing into the machine. It flashes a bright electrical light and begins to buzz. As all three men step back, Petrel's foot catching on one of the power cords, and the Drowzee's eyes widen as the machine begins to shake and sizzle.

And soon, another bright light appears. The world around them begins to fade, and Archer couldn't facepalm any harder.

So it's been six months, and I know there's a good portion of you all dying for this. So, to celebrate Route 29's one year anniversary...

4th WALL WEEKEND!

The year-anniversary fourth wall event will take place from Saturday, May 28 to Monday, May 30.

This sparks off shortly after the conclusion of the Lugia insanity, when, of course, one of Team Rocket's nefarious schemes doesn't go according to plan.

How did this one happen?

Well, Arianna wanted to move the Rockets to Goldenrod. Since they have seized control of the Radio Tower, she figured they could take over the abandoned hotel they were already using as base. But, you see, she's not the type of person to get her hands dirty, so she told Petrel to find Proton and move it to the helicopter.

But Petrel, being Petrel, tripped a cord. And the machine flickered. Another rift opened and summoned anything it felt like summoning, which shattered the fourth wall and sparked the beginning of this event.

After the cue from a mod post, there will be a loud crack and a flash of white light in Johto. When your characters blink a few times, the scene before their eyes will return to normal... however... there will be a lot more people, or beings, in the cities, or along the routes, or even just trolling about on the PokéConnect.

"Professor Oak... I think--"

"Just one moment, Professor Elm, I think I've got i--"

"B-but Professor Oak!"

"Just a minute... Aha! I've got it!" In his zone, Professor Oak doesn't stop being hunched over his machine until he's solved the problem. Or at least until he thinks he has. It's finally stopped beeping.

"Professor... it's smoking."

"Eh?!"

And in a matter of seconds... it begins to beep again. Both professors stare in shock. A few seconds later, it begins to flash. They just duck, and as the machine explodes, an unearthly light pours from the laboratory and out into the land above.

By the time the smoke clears, both professors are quite certain that something went awry...
