route_29 | The End is only the Beginning... Anniversary Event Part 2!

Thankfully, Proton was on top of it this year. As the chaos began to sweep across the regions, the phones had been going off almost nonstop. Ariana was displeased, Archer completely peeved that their security had been breached so easily. Needless to say, the sacked rockets were spending a few good days in the hole. A swarm of Gastly, being sent out from Rocket helicopters around the city, unleash mass attacks of Hypnosis at everyone they see. Wherever the Gastly don't hit, those wonderful Sleep Powder Bombs do.

And during those few hours of slumber, the machine powers up, powers down. The world shifts again, and those odd visitors, the strange guests, extra pokémon, demons, world-breakers, and the like--it all leaves, taking away every trace of evidence with them. Time, as usual, has not changed--it's still ticking, just as it had been during those three days.

Three days, completely gone. Entries from the PokéConnect have been completely erased, notes and photographs and news reports nothing but a mess of errors and destroyed wastes of paper. The residents, all of them save for three rocket executives (poor Petrel, he forgot his gas mask in the back office), wake up to memories of odd dreams that don't seem quite real.

Man, for those who have been here for two years, doesn't that just suck?

Pokégears and clocks will register the proper time and date. The regular background music returns, and everything is once again back to normal--whatever value one has of 'normal' in this world. You may find yourself waking up somewhere you don't remember falling asleep in. A different building, a different city, a different region, or even out on a trail or on that damn Ice Path you just left. Any pokémon caught or new friends met during the event will not be present or remembered in any sort of detail. Like a really strange dream that you know had some sort of effect on you, even if you can't recall the details.

But that's not all...

Early at dawn, Magikarp begin to surface in the lakes, the rivers. Hell, even the streams are a bit overcrowded. Just bright orange fish. And in the cities? Pidoves. In every city. Needless to say, there will be Pidove poop adorning most of the buildings' roofs, or under trees.

Not only that, but starting around noon, the Poochyena begin to creep in from western Johto. Sinking in to Olivine and working their way east, these little gray dogs aren't the kindest, nor are they the quietest. It really doesn't help that, early Tuesday morning, Growlithes begin creeping in from Eastern Kanto, moving west at a pretty ridiculous pace. By Wednesday, these two pokémon have already begun meeting up everywhere, and they disagree on who gets which route. Fights break out, dog fights all over the place. Territorial disputes, really.

It doesn't help that, on late Monday, Scolipedes have begun creeping in, starting in Ecruteak and Cerulean and working their way across. Early Tuesday? Petilils begin to sprout on the routes. All over. And little Shinx creeping about, sneaking into cities. Just friendly little cubs wanting to say hi, shocking anyone who scares them!

On Wednesday? Blitzles. Lost and confused, they practically stampede away from the coast in small groups of five or six. Some of them stop by grass to graze, some just burn through the city. They'll be bumping into the Deerling, all of which seem very season-confused (they will go back to Spring settings by June 1, if one wishes to catch one) but have no problem prancing about. They linger to the edge of the cities, but all of these little deer-unicorn-things are quite peaceful.

Thursday morning brings the last of crazy things: Haunters. Pranking everyone. From tapping people on the shoulder to random spooks, imitating random individuals, creeping up from your toilet, pushing you forward and disappearing... Any trolling, you name it and Haunter will be there.

Yeah, 'crazy' doesn't even begin to describe it. By the end of Thursday, May 31, the swarms will begin to dissipate, shrinking to merely a few pokémon here and there . They won't fully be gone until early June 2, with those tricky little stragglers taking their sweet, sweet time leaving the city.
