Spring Cleaning
![]() | First, read that newspaper, or mouse over it if you can't. Crazy stuff. Ara here, proud to present Spring Cleaning, a plot I never could have gotten off the ground without the help of my co-mods and input from a lot of wonderful players. First, a big thank you to our wonderful Rocket members who've already started using the missions post! As you can see, it's been updated: two plot-related missions have cropped up. On the 2nd of May the missions begin. The first is hijacking garbage trucks in the six urban centers: Celadon, Saffron, Violet, Goldenrod, Ecruteak and Olivine. Trash needs to get scattered, so go crazy. I mean, when's the next time you get to joyride a garbage truck? Limit two Rockets per truck. This is pretty straightforward, but I will need two team leader volunteers (on for each region) to coordinate all the truck-driving Rockets and make sure they don't cross police patrol routes. Promotion opportunity! The second is planting radio-emitting devices close (or better, inside) the large piles of trash the first group is creating. This is slightly more delicate: the devices are disc-shaped, about the size of a man's palm, and set to attach to whatever flat surface they're pressed against. You can thank Gorthan for the design. Only one Rocket per device per city, and the planting should be as discreet as possible; transport will be provided (Magnet Train or otherwise) to the assigned city. Again, two volunteer team leaders are needed to coordinate with the truck leaders and with the science division. Any or all positions can be filled by NPCs, so please don't feel pressured. Both missions are first-come, first-serve and rank/time of membership is ignored. These missions will be active for three days. On the 5th of May things get hinky. Of course, there was a point to all this. On the fifth, the Lavender radio tower (you didn't actually believe this merger business did you? Petrel's a scary guy when he wants to be) will run a high-powered signal to the Goldenrod tower and back. The devices will activate, causing the trash to morph. Grimer, Trubbish, Muk and Garbodor will be everywhere, and multiplying like a hydra. They'll be concentrated in the six urban centers again, but they'll inevitably make it onto the routes, polluting as they go. |
Meanwhile, at the same time, Rockets in the old Mahogany base and in Diglett's Cave will be setting off interference signals to scramble trackers and make sure the two Towers can't be traced. The citizens will be in a panic, anyway, so the police (and hopefully, everyone else) will have their hands full! The police will also be taking trainers to various places on the map to help out, and extra trains will be running between the regions. All Rockets who aren't in Mahogany or D.C. will be commandeered to loot and pillage as much as they can to take advantage of the chaos. The team leaders from the previous phase will be in charge here. The department stores, of course, will be a prime target, and Pcs and NPCs should be mugged for all their worth. Speaking of getting mugged, I'm sure you've seen the weather. I hope you brought your clothespins, your poor noses will need 'em. On the 8th...something's going to happen. But you see, we don't know what it is yet, because that depends on you. Yes, you, non-TR people! The 'good guys'! (That might even be some of you TR members...) We didn't want to make the outcome thread-based, because, let's be honest, we've seen it go horribly wrong in other games, with plot-important threads stalled indefinitely. We want to avoid that, so here's how we're going to run this: There are six devices, one each for Goldenrod, Ecruteak, Olivine, Violet, Celadon and Saffron. With the general confusion, we're giving the PGC (and non-PGC, you don't have to be a member of any association to participate!) three days, so the 5, 6 and 7 to get their bearings and take action. There is a chance of finding and eliminating each device, but it's slim, being that they are very small and easy to miss and, presumably, absolutely covered with the Muk and Garbodor they're producing. I'll be making sub-threads for each city; once characters have decided which city they're defending, please generate one number between 1 and 20 and post with your character. We'll run it against our list of integers to determine whether or not the device in that city was destroyed. I can see you leosquinting at me. Here's an example: Coop and Heather are in Olivine and both of them are after the cause of the disturbances. Heather rolls a 10 and Coop an 18. The (hypothetical) correct numbers for Olivine are 2, 10, 12 and 15. Heather's a match, so the device is taken out. Meanwhile, Kiki is all alone up in Celadon doing the same, and rolls a 9. The numbers for Celadon are 8, 11, 17 and 20. No luck, the device in Celadon isn't found. Obviously, cities with 6 people searching in them have a much higher chance than cities with only one, so it pays to split up. Of course, if your character won't actively be looking for the devices, you don't have to RNG, unless you want them to stumble on it by accident. We'll announce the results on the seventh. If five out of six of TR's devices are taken out, that's one possible outcome. If not, there's another planned. I hope that's clear enough. Please let us know if you have any questions, comments or difficulties! Don't forget to check out the updated calendar if you're lost! As usual, this post will also serve as a plotting post for everyone to determine what they're doing, when and with whom! |

HE IS NOT DARING ENOUGH TO HIJACK A GARBAGE TRUCK ALL ALONE THOUGH. He applauds you on your lack of social restraint in that matter, Takagi-kun.

Because it happens that I have here a lady rather renowned for her supposed "lofty moral superiority" despite doing some traditionally criminal things and with a somewhat significant interest in kids of the seventeen-year-old persuasion. And would really enjoy helping to facilitate that kind of moral questioning.
So really what I'm getting at here is would Keisuke like to hit Carmen with his truck.

...DEAR LORD, ALEX, HOW DO I EVEN RESPOND TO THIS WITHOUT SIMPLY SAYING "ARE YOU HITTING ON HIM???" BECAUSE LMAO THAT IS THE ONLY THING GOING THROUGH MY MIND.Really, though, who could turn down Carmen Sandiego CR? I'm not exactly in a good mindset for plotting, atm, but I'm about to add you on Plurk, so we can discuss it there???
