regarding Starters and Baby-Making

Three things:

1) SO WE HERD U WANTED SOME OLD STARTERS.

There are now 140.

In addition, because Larvitar are pseudo-Legendary pokémon, they've been given a cap of 10. We've never actually had ten as starters so this should be alright.

2) We've also added the bugs from the swarm-plot to the Availability List, as well as the two found at the Ruins of Alph. You no longer need to contact us about what to find there! We've linked what's there and probably someday maybe we'll find a better way to add it there but until then have that link.

3) PEOPLE WHO BREED, GET OVER HERE!

Two things:
1) Would you all prefer a breeders-specific community in order to keep free eggs and whatnot in order instead of using the OOC community? If so, any ideas for a name or would you like one of us to think of something?

and 2) We've heard from numerous people that there's an excess of eggs. Because of this, it will be capped. Although, we don't want to cap it too high or too low, so I had a question for you guys: How much do you think is too much? This can be in terms of too many eggs per pokémon, per week, from pokémon each week? etc. Anything you can think of, go ahead and list, and feel free to discuss amongst each other as well!

As for the caps, personally I think it should be different for both Trainers and Breeders, as they both are supposed to have different responsibilities from each other. Trainers are supposed to focus on gym battles and catching Pokémon, whereas Breeders are, well, breeding.

This. For those trainers-turned-breeders, perhaps the option to purchase a breeding license could be available (therefore changing their title to 'breeder,' not 'trainer')?

And if this is done, it might be best to provide some other sort of perk that trainers can have, so that there's some incentive to be a trainer over a breeder. Perhaps a trainer discount at the marts/department store?

eta: I have nothing against either a new comm or a breeding/eggs tag in 006. (I do think the new comm's name should keep with the theme, though, if it's done — route_34?)

Also, a bimonthly egg cap per character (with regard to the number of Pokémon they have) sounds like the best idea to me. Maybe with an additional max cap per Pokémon — if Joey has nine Rattata and a Houndour, at three eggs per Poké, he shouldn't be allowed to have thirty Houndour eggs. Maybe a clutch is up to eight eggs, or something?

Or, to add to your little edit there, have the rarity or chance of more Houndour eggs diminished. Like maybe out of those eight eggs, have three Houndour and five Rattata. I'm sure people already employ an idea like that when they make eggs posts, but the fact that rarities are just as common as the Rattata defeats the purpose.

So something like, just as a template:
Common x Common = Common
Common x Uncommon = 50% Common, 50% Uncommon
Common x Rare = 70% Common, 30% Rare
Common x HARD MODE Rare = 90% Common, 10% HARD MODE Rare

I should clarify: when I said 'a clutch is up to eight eggs,' I just meant that no one Pokémon can produce more than eight eggs in a go. Hence, only eight of those thirty could be Houndour.

But I like the idea of employing rarities as a method of cutting back on the eggs/species that should ostensibly be less common. It's a bit more complex, but more efficient, I think.
