Also guys, we've received a few complaints about the overabundance of memes in the OOC community. We accidentally let it get a bit overboard and we don't want it to become too cluttered, so in a few days, we are going to make a meme-community for Route. For now and for the future, all memes posted in the game communities and the meme community must be mod approved. More details to come soon!

Whoa huh-- Uh. I can understand wanting to mod the meme's on the ooc community since you're going to make a comm just for spamming/posting them, but will modding them on the one you're making specifically for them really be necessary once you get it up?

I mean, compared to some games I play at the amount of meme stuff/polls I've seen here is super slow and small. And if people don't like to follow polls and stuff like that they could just not watch the comm you're making for them, you know? I just think it's kind of silly to add meme's of all things onto the list of stuff we would have pester the mods about.

Unless you were planning to not mod them at all once the actual community is made in which case DISREGARD THIS

I... actually second pretty much this whole post. The 'don't see a need to poke overwhelmed mods to post a meme to a meme-only comm', the 'seen comms with way way worse quantities of meme', all of it.

Well, it wouldn't be us posting all your memes for you. Just probably approving them and letting everyone go crazy with it. But I have an organized idea for it that we're going to try out for now at least. And if it gets to be too much, we'll change it.

For right now, it will be. We have a system for the new comm so we'll see how it goes. And of course it'll be optional for those who want to participate or not. I know compared to some games we don't have that many, but lj's also got a wide variety and we have had days of just meme-overload that I've seen. Of course, the rules aren't completely set in stone just yet, and we'll fix it when we run into issues.

System or not, I'm just worried about-- like Snow pointed out-- a thing like mod permission needed for memes overwhelming you guys. But personally I've never seen a day when meme's have overloaded the ooc community or anything and the variety really depends on the players posting them more than anything.

... unless you're talking about the meme's people post in their character journals in which case I could understand the 'overload' like from that shipping one a few days back.

BUT EITHER WAY I will save any more rambling on this until you guys throw the comm together and I see the rules you have set up! I'm sure it'll probably all be fine and I'll look like a doofus for rambling.

Well, the shipping ones and similar memes were a bit excessive at times but it was mostly the ones on 006 and making it a bit of a challenge to find some non-meme-related posts on the comm. Granted, we can't really stop people from posting those in their own journals and we're not going to try, but we're hoping this can organize it a bit more so it's all in an easy-to-find kind of place. I know the memes aren't really a major problem at Route, just an eyesore to some on the few days when they pop up; we just want to pounce on it now before it becomes a bigger issue.

XD no no, I love that you guys came to me. And you guys are just watching out for us and I think it's really sweet~

The whole memes-comm thing is still fairly new to me; I've only been in one game that had a memes-comm and that was a good half a year ago, so it's wonderful to hear opinions on it all.

Aha I personally haven't seem them as excessive-- since like I said there realllly isn't that many compared to other games. I think it was more people really liked them so there were a lot of replies to the ones that went up? Which, honestly, I think is a good thing myself.

I AM NOT SWEET HRGH I mean I've never even been in a game that had a dedicated 'poll/spam' comm, but from the ones I've seen at other places trying to full time moderate the posts would get a little crazy-- or people would rarely use it out of not wanting to bother you guys?? idk maybe I'm just thinking about it too much.

yet again, either way, I can understanding wanting to mod it at first. I just hope it gets to be fully open sometime (again?) just cause for me personally if I had an idea for one I probably wouldn't post it cause I wouldn't want to bother you guys with more stuff to deal with hahaha

XD well, it also depends on the games you compare it to. For instance, Discedo has a meme maybe once every other month whereas XI has a few every other day. Broad range and different tastes for everyone, and with so many people coming from all over different games, Route has a LOT more than some but a lot less than others. That's why I'm half inclined to agree and half to disagree. I played in both those games so it's not bad since it didn't start off that way but I also can see why the amount annoyed people.

You and Kaito do have a point though, with the not-bothering part, but you don't have to hesitate! It takes only a second and we really don't mind! After all, what kind of chill mods would we be if we were pissy that you guys wanted to use the meme comm for, y'know, a meme.

It might open up fully, but right now we're just going to see how it goes for a little, or do moderated posts so we can control which ones are posted or when. When Okami resurfaces I'm going to slam her with all of these ideas.

Aaaa, I can see where you're coming from with that! Well, I'm sure you guys will come up with a good solution be it moderated or whatever-- I'll just hope it opens fully eventually, be it a month or two from now or whatever, for all the reasons I said. okay I swear I am done my input this time
