▶ ▷ ▶ GYM NEWS Θ SEEING RED! GYM LEADER BLUE PROCLAIMS SUPERIORITY TO THE ELITE FOUR! "They should put up a few pictures of me in here!" Leader BLUE announced while in the vicinity of the Elite Four's Trophy Room. "I beat them all once, so maybe I should just toss up a sign that says 'Blue was here, the Elite Four are losers' somewhere!" Could it be Leader BLUE has his sights set once again on...the CHAMPION? Stay tuned to Channel EV News for further updates as this breaking story unfolds! Θ OUTRAGEOUS! POKEMON PROM A ROARING SUCCESS! "Well, of course it was a rousing success," said Leader CLAIR when our ace reporter caught up with her after her triumphant return to Blackthorn City. "Did you expect anything less? All you trainers out there should take this as a lesson in what it's possible to achieve, once you devote yourself to a cause and put in the hard work to make it a reality! Now excuse me, I have gym challenges to see to. At last!" Hey! Do YOU have an exciting prom story from last weekend? Call in and share it with us to win yourself a free GREAT BALL, courtesy of your friends at Channel EV News! |
![]() ▶ ▷ ▶ CRIME NEWS Θ OFFICER DOWN! TEAM ROCKET STRIKES AGAIN! Citizens with any information about the incident in question are asked to contact Interim Officer Benny at PKM-NLAW. Your calls will remain strictly confidential! Θ MAULED! OFFICER IN CRITICAL CONDITION! Again, please contact Interim Officer Benny at PKM-NLAW if you have any information on this terrible incident, and we once again STRONGLY caution all trainers in the vicinity of Goldenrod City to be careful out there! |
![]() ▶ ▷ ▶ WEATHER Θ PUT A SPRING IN YOUR STEP! Θ A NOTE FROM MOM! As temperatures heat up, use one of your Ice-Types (or just the refrigerator) to freeze Berries and other yummy fruits into ice cubes, then use those in place of regular ice to keep your drinks nice and frosty! They'll add a sweet burst of flavor, and they're good for you, too! Or mix it up and freeze strawberries or raspberries inside an ice cube tray full of Lemonade for a delicious frozen treat to snack on whenever the mood strikes! |
![]() ▶ ▷ ▶ SWARM NEWS Θ HUNTIN' FOR HUNTAIL! "Did you manage to spot any of the wild HUNTAIL there?" Professor OAK asked eagerly, when approached for comment. "HUNTAIL normally live incredibly deep in the oceans, so it's very unlikely you'll ever have a chance of seeing one! Imagine how fortunate it was when I caught a glimpse of one while on the Elite Four's estate!" Θ AND FOOLIN' WITH FOONGUS! "A FOONGUS may seem cute, but it's actually a surprisingly devious little Pokemon!" Professor OAK enthused. "It uses its cap, which resembles the red-and-white pattern of a Pokeball, to lure in unsuspecting Pokemon and trainers — and then when they're close enough, it blasts them with poison spores! I sure hope no unsuspecting trainers got caught in THAT trap — it'd sure put a damper on the dancing and fun!" |
![]() ▶ ▷ ▶ MISC. NEWS Θ THE FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT! OLIVINE LIGHTHOUSE LIGHTS UP AGAIN! "I'm just...I'm so incredibly grateful to everyone for all their good wishes and help and support. AMPHY's going to be just fine, and I...I want to personally thank each and every one of the wonderful people who offered their time and their talents to help her. I-I don't know what to say, I'm just so thankful! And, um...I also want to say a really special thank-you to LT. SURGE, in Vermilion City. He really is the expert in Electric types! And he knew just what to do, so...um, LT. SURGE...w-when you see this, I hope you know that...well, thank you. Thank you so much!" Θ POSTMARKED STRAIGHT TO THE HEART! "Dear EV News, Here's my story from CLAIR's Pokemon Prom: for the past several months, I've been stationed in Pewter City researching the CIRCULAR MARKINGS left behind by the Legendary Golems last Christmas. We've been making a lot of progress at it, but it does get lonely out there on the site sometimes, being away from everyone. Well, CLAIR's gala was the first chance I've had in a long time to kick back and unwind and have some fun for an evening, and...it turns out, I was really lucky, because a special someone of mine managed to find one of her silver tickets, too. So thanks, CLAIR, for giving us the chance to see each other again, and to that special someone, if you see this...give your FURRET a hug from me. All my best, Scientist LAUREN." Hey out there, Special Someone! Looks like Scientist LAUREN is thinking of you! |

PROM FEEDBACK GOES HERE
no subject
Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? No
What did you like about the event? I liked that it was BIG and easy for a character to ICly access no matter if they were a trainer, breeder, or grunt. There was lots to do!
What could we do better in the future? Maybe space some events out over various posts to save crashes in the future.
Anything else? Can we have another next year?

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? No.
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with?
What did you like about the event? Everything?! It was a super cute idea and I loved all the in-person interaction opportunities it opened up. Plus it was a great way to branch out for new CR. And the NPC'd gym leaders were a nice touch, even if I failed to actually interact with any of them.
MortyWhat could we do better in the future? Spread it out over two posts from the get-go perhaps? Loading issues/browser crashing aside, there was just a whooooole lot of stuff to wade through. Maybe something like splitting it by indoor/outdoor activities might have helped?
Anything else? +1 to what Wolfy said. Let's do it again!
Re: PROM FEEDBACK GOES HERE
Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? Yes
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? Clair, Blue
What did you like about the event? It was a lot of fun and, like a couple of others have said, it was a great way to make new CR and have them meet no matter where they happened to travel at the time. It was wonderful fun and would love to see something like this in the future (though not right away as to avoid burn-out). I also adored getting to actually interact with the gym leaders for once, and seeing them as more active characters was really refreshing and fun. =)
What could we do better in the future? There isn't a whole lot I can think of save for possibly multiple posts (while using that handy 'don't show on the reading pages' option) with links to help spread out the posts a lot more so that we can avoid having overflows. The event itself was fantastic.
Anything else? You guys all rule. ♥

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? No, they're all beneath me.
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? AND BY THE WAY, GOOD JOB BEING SO FULL OF YOURSELF THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN THINK TO ASK ME TO DANCE, BLUE
What did you like about the event? Everything, I ran it.
What could we do better in the future? My own prime-time talk show wouldn't hurt.
Anything else? Thank you to each and every trainer, breeder, or grunt who attended and helped to make the evening a magnificent one. ♥

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? No, but I had a lot of fun stalking the Gym Leader threads!
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? N/A
What did you like about the event? It was so much fun to see virtually all the characters in one place at the same time. Even for characters I didn't directly interact with, it was just neat to imagine them all mingling in one building when normally they're spread out across such a huge distance. Not something I'd want to be the case 24/7, but for a special occasion it was REALLY wonderful.
It provided a fantastic opportunity to let long-distance CR meet in person, too-- something that can be a little hard to find the excuse for sometimes.
What could we do better in the future? I can't think of anything! Y'ALL DUN GOOD.
Anything else? Seconding the want for another event like this next year! (not sooner, though... we don't want it to get stale!)

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? NO, I was hiatused because of computer issues, although I've read a lot and am backtagging players. I didn't want to add to mod work. :>
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? n/a
What did you like about the event? IT WAS SO BIG, and easy for everyone to access!! I liked that the travel plans, which are normally a pain, were basically taken care of for people. IT WAS SO NICE.
What could we do better in the future? Make more events like that (I really liked what I saw and was able to do) aaaaaand also split it up more like Katar suggested.
Anything else? Also wanna do it again. :>

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? Yes
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? Clair and Morty
What did you like about the event? I really liked that everyone got to be in the same place! There was stuff for everyone to do and a lot of CR opportunities. Seeing the gym leaders out and about was also really cool.
What could we do better in the future? Like others have said already, having more than one log to prevent crashes/need for an overflow post.
Anything else? +1 for having it again next year.

Did your character interact with a Gym Leader at prom? Yes
If yes, which Leader(s) did they interact with? Saber had a lovely thread with Whitney, I didn't have the stamina to tag any of the others sadly
maybe if there are any up for backtagging? ;DWhat did you like about the event? That it was a good excuse to get several people threading with others they never had a chance to engage before.
What could we do better in the future? I actually have no complaints. You guys handled an awesome event and kept on top of it. Thank you for coming up with it and even more props thrown your way for NPC interaction. In a game that has so many NPCs, it's a pleasure to see them about and interacting with characters.
Anything else?
I'd love to see gym leaders/NPCs start replying to player posts maybe? ;Dno subject
I had an incredibly fantastic time! I got to dance with two special men in my life. One of them was my son, Dave Strider, and he was utterly adorable! He kept blushing and stuttering and it was just sooooo cuuuuute. Davie's a really good dancer, by the way, and he's still single! The other is a man who likes to simply call himself Bro Strider, and he was absolutely dashing in that suit. He's an old friend of mine, you see. The dance was divine and he's quite the gentleman! He's just as cute as Davie, by the way.
IC story #2 from ANON (???) (it's really Mom I mean srsly):
I have it said from highly reliable sources and straight from the horse's mouth that the most adorable couple (Jake English and Dirk Strider oooo they're sooooo cuuuuuuuuuute!) just shared their first kiss during their first dance at the prom! It was so romantic and adorable. I really wish I'd been in their shoes, sigh.
ooc ps: i'd adore a gossip column jsyk *^*
