Warning to All Citizens of Johto!

At approximately 10:00 AM (EST) on Monday, June 06, everyone's PokéGears will go off in a colorful display of... a few Jennys in a bit of a frantic rush.

[Officer Jenny appears on screen, staring at the screen in shock. She tries to compose herself and opens her mouth, but another sound behind her has her turning away, It's a second Jenny, pacing back and forth.] "What's wrong with this region's technology?! How could everything from Goldenrod be transferred over to Sinnoh?!" [She's pretty frazzled about this. The first Jenny holds up her hands, as if trying to hide this from the rest of Johto. She didn't think of turning off the broadcast. Obscured but still slightly in view, the second Jenny stops pacing and smacks the paperwork she's holding.] "There was a heist in the Goldenrod center, but it's been months! And so many children skipping out on their work, that pokégear... Even Pokémon abuse! How did we get none of that!" "Jenny! We have new cases we need to solve! Let the others rest." [The first one is all for letting bygones be bygones. The second takes a long moment to think... before sighing. She nods.] "Report the three we have." "Understood!" [The first one spins around to face the camera again. She lowers her hands and puts on her best business face before reading off the crimes.] "Citizens of Johto! We have three criminals running on the loose! The first two are likely to be cunning but not too dangerous. However, please don't approach them for causing trouble! The third one is a repeat offender! He's very sneaky and may try to rob you of your belongings! Although the items were, um... returned... We still would like to bring him in for questioning! If you spot any of them, please alert the authorities immediately!" [On the screen, three wonderul mug-shots.Once again taken by a pidgey in a tree with a camera.]

"And if you see these criminals, I strongly advise you all, as good citizens of this city, to give us a call! Thank you!" [The first officer pauses and turns behind her, hand obscuring the camera again.] "What do we tell them about those three days--" "Ssh! That's classified information! Turn off the camera!" [Connection terminated.]

That's right, the three recent heists in the month of May! Nanao and Kaito would like to escape, but Stitch is up for grabs after the stone her stole is used.

My canon detective NEEDS in on this. :D I see him springing into action pretty quickly after seeing this, at the very least to gather more details. I don't want to overstep my bounds, but please let me know how I can help with this plot. <3

L is in Olivine City at the moment, following his battle with Jasmine and awaiting news from Belphegor, his traveling companion who's on her way back from Cianwood. L is ABSOLUTELY willing to investigate, especially if Kid is a particularly elegant or intriguing criminal. L canonly takes on cases that interest him, but in Route I can totally see him chasing someone he might have ignored in his own world simply for a diversion.

So DO LET'S. Is he around Olivine?

Kid fits the phantom thief trope to a T (complete with advance notices and everything), but he also likes to put a spin on his heists by turning them into magic shows. :O He also likes playing up the ~*gentlemanly*~ part of his persona-- just for kicks, because he's a dork like that |D

And he is around Olivine! :3b Generally he goes about his business out of disguise (as Kaito), but a Kid-spotting wouldn't be too difficult, especially since I'm sure he dons the white costume at night and prowls around a few rooftops for exercise and such.

Do you want to do a log? I'm absolutely fine with L meeting him as either persona, whether during the daytime as Kaito, or at night (L is an insomniac and he feels safe enough with his pokemon to go out when it's dark) when he's wearing the white suit and being a phantom thief. XD Since L is pretty far-removed from being anything remotely gentlemanly, it should be interesting to see that dynamic in play. <3

Any preference on time, place, circumstances? I don't mind setting up the log, and I could probably have it up within the hour.

Sure, a log sounds great to me! I don't have any preference on time, place or circumstances, but I think L would probably get the most out of meeting the actual thief Kid, rather than Kaito, who would just act like a dorky teen. XD

Oh! Quick question; L has some ghost and psychic pokemon. Since he's by no means the paragon of health, strength, or agility, he'll probably be using them to try and trip up Kid, since otherwise, it's unlikely they'd ever meet face to face.

We could do it a couple ways. We could say that L has been trailing him and predicts his location correctly thanks to some reliable leads, OR that there is a chance encounter that he acts on quickly with his Kadabra or his Haunter. Either way is fine with me; I want an entertaining and challenging log, after all. XD

Oooh, that sounds good! Kid has a few Pokemon to defend himself with too, and L will be the lucky guy to be the first to see what kind of Pokemon Kid owns XD He won't be too happy with that.

And I'd say a chance encounter is more likely, since Kid is pretty good at realizing when people are trailing him and throwing them off :O Does that work for you?
