PLOTPLOTPLOTPLOTPLOT

Hey guys, so WE HERD U LIEK LEGENDARIES?!?!

So, you all remember the Rockets taking over the Goldenrod Radio Tower, right? That was a while ago? Pshawwwww, it was so Arianna could boss around some nerds -- I mean, create just the right signal in an underground hideout. Now that it's finally ready, it's time to put this obnoxious, Pokemon-audible-only noise to work and get Team Rocket some ~*~shinies~*~!

That legend about the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage? Well, Team Rocket is about to find out if it's really there or not. In the wee hours of the morning on Saturday, May 21st, Arianna is going to gleefully release a new radio signal to the air. Just when nothing seems to be happening, that afternoon? Aw yeah, a large swarm of Gyarados are surfacing in the Lake of Rage.

Downside? None are shiny and red. The radio noise is causing the Gyarados to go bonkers, and it's RAIN DANCE RAIN DANCE RAIN DANCE nonstop for them all! The result of all that rain dancing is unfortunately causing quite an enormous thunderstorm to form over the northern part of Johto around 5 in the afternoon, encompassing Ecruteak City and stretching as far as Blackthorn City.

Get your umbrellas and golashes on, cause that isn't the end of it, folks. With the signal still going strong the next day (May 22nd), it's not just the Gyarados that are being driven mad by the racket. Wild Pokemon that hang out in the water all over Johto (whether it is by lake, stream, pond or out into the ocean) are going to start migrating inland to escape the sound.

It sure sucks how sound travels faster in water and is exponentially louder, you know? These inland migrations will keep happening all day, and it doesn't seem like there's an end in sight for both the downpour of constant RAINDANCERAINDANCE and Pokemon... and yeah, it really isn't ending just yet. Even better (sarcasm here), most trainer-owned Water type Pokemon are having difficulties with the 'invisible' noise, becoming downright disagreeable and being prone to just... being hard to control. High chances are they'll be incapable of battling for you, guys.

THE GOOD NEWS IS: something else finally happens in the middle of the night. That something else?

Lugia.

With the radio tower still giving out that ugly frequency and for now, two days straight, Lugia finally comes shooting out of the Whirlpool Islands in a mad attempt to escape the noise. Really, all that does is cause a massive storm at sea.
Cianwood, luckily, is a bit more prepared for this kind of thing, and they are able to keep the water at bay with some quick work of Chuck's Pokemon digging trenches along the edge of the small town.

Of course, the news team over in Cianwood passes video footage along. As soon as Archer sees that when he gets his coffee early on the morning of May 23rd? Sup Arianna, plans have changed. Team Rocket is going to get its hands on a true legendary, not some myth of a red fish in a lake; Team Rocket will be aiming for Lugia.

However, the crazy waves coming in from the storms Lugia caused are giving Olivine City a good pounding, and Officer Jennys are realizing they need help; an SOS for all trainers that feel they can lend a hand, available Officer Jennys will drive them to Olivine to help dig the trenches needed at the edge of town to keep the tides from flooding in! By the time evening rolls around, hopefully, there will be a few trainers in and helping out.

While Lugia zips around the ocean trying to block out that noise the Radio Tower is still giving off, Trainers and Breeders and really anyone willing to help can contact a Jenny and get a free, risk-free car trip to Olivine. (Yes, return of the crazy driver Jenny; buckle your seatbelts, ladies and gents, you're in for a... bumpy ride.)

Rockets? They'll take helicoptor rides to the edge of town where Grunts will be dropped off discreetly in a small clearing off Route, where Archer will be waiting with details, on how you'll help them get that Lugia...

OKAY THAT. All sounds really awesome. I mean it's Lugia huff huff. But what does this actually entail for our characters once they're in these places? And I'm a little confused as to when they get there and-- stuff. Do they leave on the 23rd when the sights are set for Cianwood or are they going to... arrive there then even though Lugia hadn't shown up yet...?

Um, yeah! Is there going to be a little more detailed instruction post coming later on for this and that or..? Yeah. :|a

... LUGIA. Lugiaaaaaa.

........ oh oops both of Kinzo's Pokemon are Water types.

SCRE LUGIA SCRE LUGIA SCRE LUGIAAAAA

It just so happens that Hope's most powerful Pokémon is a Blastoise. And Hope would definitely pull it out for this event in case of flooding. Which will of course kick him in the ass.

[identity profile] mineisanevillol.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
OH MAN LUGIA 8D

I'm still on hiatus but I will at least send Luke over to Olivine. This will be fun...

[identity profile] usedsuitup.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
This totally works with the post I was planning for Roxas. He is totally gonna want to see Lugia. Will it be making a pass over Ecruteak?

Ahhhh, this is amazing! *A*

Out of curiosity, if your character is hypothetically in New Bark Town or somewhere really early on in the routes, would they still be able to hitch a ride to Olivine, or would that be too far?

QUESTION.

[identity profile] frustratings.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Does this mean it'll be easier to catch the water Pokemon in the Safari Zone? :|a
soggypastry: (laughter. or close enough)

[personal profile] soggypastry 2011-05-20 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
...Lightning's most powerful pokemon is a Rapidash. Poor thing won't stand a chance in all that rain, and her babeh Pichu...isn't up to fighting much of anything. She's not gonna be happy about this.

Also, mods, two questions! Lightning's going to pick someone up at the Sudowoodo Crossing on the 22nd. Is the rain going to affect the Sudowoodo being there? I'm assuming the Rain Dance would have reached it at some point, but I'm probably wrong.

And would it be possible to catch one of the water types that's come onto land to escape the noise? Or would they be too ragey and "aksdlhalkshda WHAT IS THAT SOUND" to even attempt to catch?

[identity profile] serpensrex.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
YAY LUGIA

This is going to be awesome!

... FOR THE LOVE OF

oh my god every time Hayate tries to move the team forward AN EVENT HAPPENS

no really this somehow feels like a trend..... So, uh. Question! Say a certain group of trainers (Hayate's) was planning on leaving Olivine early morning on the 21st. Would their ferry end up getting horribly wrecked into whirlpool islands or something?

Planning and question!♥

...Mods, this is awesome and you are awesome. Will the people who go help in Olivine be brought back, will they stay, is it at our discretion?

TRAVELLING PARTY AND CASTMATES! Cecil will certainly want to go help in Olivine. Is anyone else coming? Are we staying there? I need your input, people!

>ALL OF THE WATER TYPES

FUUUUUUUUUU--

[identity profile] dark-surprise.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Margarita is so glad that her only Water-type is a Magikarp that can't do much yet. And she'll probably be taking advantage of that ride to Olivine City.

[identity profile] soulcool.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Queeestion!

It's not really all that clear, so -- will ALL of the cities be effected by the rain, and if so, how much will the inland cities be hit? o: Are they gonna be flooded a couple inches, nothing but mud, just Washington State weather...?

:3a Just wondering!

Ohoho~ this sounds pretty awesome! The water pokémon thing is going to happen all the way to Cherrygrove, I take it? Just clarifying since I'm still kind of not so awake.

Oh, my goodness this event sounds so spectacular. CRAZY THUNDERSTORMS FTFW Storm will feel so utterly useless without her powers lmao

BUT STILL she's probably totally going to volunteer over at Olivine because It's The Right Thing To Do and all. She's already been exposed to crazy car rides care of Kitty, so she can do this yeaaaah

also MODS I do have a relevant question |D Castform is going to be stuck in Rainy mode for this whole thing! Does that mean he'll be affected by the noise? Even if he's technically still a Normal type...?

[identity profile] callmeadam.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
SQUEE!

Oh man, Ocelot isn't going to pass this chance up.

I am seriously making this face.

[identity profile] used-fireblast.livejournal.com 2011-05-20 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
Will Rockets be able to get a lift to Olivine, assuming they're not making their affiliation public?

Offering Snake for helping in Olivine.
