Good evening, ladies and gents of Johto!

We've got a few announcements for you all.

First! The activity check. Due to a few issues that came up with September's, we've edited the rules to specify that it is the character journals we check for the one post to pass monthly activity. We didn't know it had confused anyone, and for that we apologize. It now reads as the following:

**Activity checks will be held from the 1st to 7th each month. You're considered active if you have at least one post per character journal each month, with at least 10 comments. On the first, we will make a post with the accounts that do not have posts that reach the requirements. You have until the 7th to make a post, link two threads or logs that have shown activity, or talk to a mod regarding other circumstances. If there are any complications or problems, please contact a mod.

We have also decided on a new reclaiming system. If by chance you were removed from the game in the activity check, you have until the 10th of each month to contact a mod and link the post or two threads/logs to reclaim your character. We'll be adding this to the rules shortly as well.

If something's listed strangely or misspelled or if I completely forgot a character or so, or if we should probably rewrite a character's or series' name to a more common/memorable tag, please let us know and we'll add it in!

I only see three characters listed on the log tags, are we supposed to add them ourselves or..?

Also I'm glad you changed the AC rules to requiring comments on them, but what if in the circumstance of having only 10 comments from other characters replying?

We actually hadn't changed that part! Just specifying that it's for character journals.

I had not realized that. When I went in to check there was a long list of all of the tags. I'll get to making a post or something where they can all be seen!

And I'm sorry I skipped over the question! Answer is: that won't count for activity check. Activity in a panfandom game is a two-way street after all.

Question. Why aren't logs counted for the initial activity check?

Using Squall as an example... If I didn't make him do accidental posts every once in a while, I would hardly be posting to his journal and rely more on interactions on the log community and other character journals for my activity.

And for the 10 comments, does it have to be 10 comments made by the player? Or 10 comments overall.

Such as the player's journal has 5 comments of them commenting back to other people (five threads = 10 comments total--one comment by the player and one made by someone else).

Logs can be counted if a player hasn't made an entry and chooses to use a log or two as their links to be removed from the activity check. Because Route is a journal-based game, journal-based activity is our main requirement. It's not to force action spam or lower usage of the logs community but to promote the activity on the PokéGears and have it so characters can communicate with one another through the devices given instead of relying on only face-to-face interactions.

As for comments, it's ten comments overall, so a player could be tagged with five people and reply to those five, or tag with one person five times.

But, with the tag system now in place, wouldn't it be easier to just glance through the log comm and see who is being active there? As a secondary check made by you Mods before listing those who are 'inactive'?

Provided everyone tags their post with their character tag, I mean. All you have to do is glance through the tags listed on each post dating back to the first of each month to know if someone who hasn't posted to their journal is still being active.


I'm going to repeat what the person above me said about comments:

What if all ten comments are made by other people and the player has not responded at all? Would you still consider that activity by that player?

It's because the activity requirement is one journal post, not a log post. The logs community is an optional form of interaction, and don't see why a secondary check is necessary if the original requirements are not met.

I'm sorry, I accidentally skipped over that. If a player isn't responding to tags, that won't count and they'll be put on the activity check.

And I really hate to be a bother but although you guys did put Aqua's new journal in the mass friend add/remove post... You haven't done so in the weekly version. It's been two weeks and I only have... about half of Route friending her journal. orz

Thanks for the log tags. I think we've been needing those for a while, no offense.

However, I can only see a handful of tags.

I've been adding them as I go myself, but some are telling me that they can't be added. Not sure why but you can try adding in "roxas | kingdom hearts" and see if it works!

The tags community is still marked as moderator-add, but if you go to "select tags" on a "post an entry" page for the logs community, all of them should pop up. Hopefully.
