MODERATOR APPLICATIONS

We're putting out a call for New Moderators to join our team!

At this time, we've decided not to commit to filling a set number of slots; we'd like to stay flexible and gauge possible interest in the position before we start determining what the revamped structure of the modteam is ultimately going to look like. So please apply! We're eager to hear from you.


Before you apply, please:

- Check here for a description of the mod duties as well as an outline of the qualities we're looking for.

- Remember that this is an authority position, with all the pros and cons that entails. We've lost members of the modteam on account of misconduct before, and we sincerely hope we'll never have to take those steps again.

- The application does ask one's preference on being a head or tech moderator, but please note that it is up to us to make that final decision.

- Note that only current Route players may apply.

Applications will be open until Saturday, April 20th at 11:59 PM, EST.

→ Applications will be screened, so it will be between you and us. However, everyone will get a confirmation message (just so you know that we did get your application). We will privately tell you afterward if you haven't been picked.
→ Once we've read the applications and found our candidates, we will message you individually to get to know you a bit more and to ask a few more questions. Think of this part as a call-back interview! It's very low-pressure, don't worry.
→ After talking to all of those picked for interviews, we'll discuss again and tell you the decision.

We'd like to request that you use your personal journals for this. If you don't have one, you may use a character journal.

Please state your name in the subject line. Normally they aren't longer than one comment, but if your app just so happens to be crazy long, or if you plan on writing us some sort of sonnet, number the comments in the subject line. This is to make sure we have all of your comments in order, in the case that another posts at the same time as you. We will not accept linked applications.

<b>Name:</b> <b>Method of Contact:</b> Please list AIMs, emails, plurks, however you'd like us to get in touch with you. <b>Characters Played (past and present):</b> Character's names and usernames if you can! <b>How long have you been in Route?</b> <b>Would you prefer to be a Tech Mod or a Head Mod?</b> And if so, why? <b>How much free time do you have?</b> This doesn't have to be any set amount of hours or whatnot, but more or less along the lines of when you're free or if you work long hours, or if you work few hours and are around a lot. Explain as much or as little as you'd like. <b>What do you like?</b> What sort of things do you like about Route? This could be anything from the playerbase to certain aspects. Anything you can think of. Honesty is a definite! You don't have to lie and tell us how much you absolutely loooove the game and everything about it. If there are things you don't like, you can list them in the question below! <b>What do you not like?</b> What parts of the game do you think are in need of improvement? Elaborate as much or as little as you'd like. Remember, honesty is a must! We're looking for your honest feelings and reflection of Route and your time involved. <b>How do you think you could help?</b> How can you help us? Taking into account your own reflection, as well as your ideas on what can be fixed and what you already like, how do you think you're capable of helping with Route? Give us your strengths in dealing with others or the duties that go into running a Dreamwidth roleplay, or Route in general. <b>What would you <u>like</u> to see?</b> Don't stress out too much about this section - it's not here demanding that you impress us with great ideas or insightful commentary or anything like that! Rather, we'd just like to hear about any possible ideas you might have for where the game should go in the future! This might come in the form of events you'd like to see run, or changes you think could be made, or anything along those lines! This section will NOT affect the ultimate judging of your app, so feel free to be as whimsical or creative as you like! The sky's the limit, and we want to see what you have in mind - you never know when your wishes might come true, after all. <b>What is the extent of your PokéKnowledge?</b> How much do you know about pokémon? Did you watch the anime, play the games, read the manga? All three? Or did you just start learning about it when you came to Route? Just tell us as much or as little as you did; this isn't much of a deciding factor as it is just necessary knowledge. It's alright if you never knew pokémon before joining, and it's just as alright if you've got a Squirtle plush hidden in your closet. <b>Have you modded a game before?</b> If so, which game? How long? What were your duties (full moderator, a techie, app team, etc.)? <b>Anything else?</b> Is there anything else you'd like to share? Anything you want us to know about you? About you in Route? Reputation, mother's maiden name, favorite pokémon, how you like your cereal, anything and everything random or odd that you'd like us to know. If not, feel free to leave it blank!

For those who applied, whether you're chosen or not, all of us would like to thank you for taking the time to fill this out and step up to the challenge. We really appreciate the fact that you're willing to help out and were honest with us. The points brought up in your responses will also go towards the overall goal of making Route an ideal game to play in.
