This was a fun first round of secrets, everyone! Gym leader and trainer alike, it was very fun reading all of your submissions and we would like to thank you on behalf of the entire EV News Staff! The love, the heartbreak, the friendship, the deep, dark, secrets!

   - EV Editors

This was a fun first round! We'd like to issue a reminder that for whenever we choose to do this again, please submit your secrets in image form, as we will not be turning text secrets into images ourselves. We did a few this time, but next time they will be omitted.

The secrets will be broadcast via Pokégear as a slideshow, which one can pause and skip as wished. Questions, comments, etc. go here. Thank you for participating! Sorry about the short notice; next time, we'll think ahead of time.

You're free to use this post for IC reactions if you'd like, and if you put "Anonymous" in the header of your comment it will ICly show up as such. It'll count for AC!

1. This is how I feel all the time. Great as it is to have a whole world to explore, grouping up can be a real pain.

3. I don't know. They've always looked pretty tacky to me.

5. It's the Pokédex entry, isn't it?

6. ...Man, you're from John's world, aren't you?

7. Pretty sure that goes for everybody.

9. Sheesh. Are Karrablasts really that bad?

12. Try telling that to the Rockets.

13. What does this even mean?

25. Dart does the same thing. You try waking up with a creepy frog staring into your soul... It's not exactly pretty.

31. Wait, you can't control your body?

32. So now the question is, who's more insane? Whitney's kind of a tough act to beat.

33, 34. Why the rabbits?

Still, the best way to become stronger is to just keep pushing. That's how I feel, anyway.

35. Even male ones?

37. Well, given how tough they were, I can't really blame you. I wonder if anyone's actually stood up to a Legendary and won.

50. Gee, that's nice.

In Response to 9: It may depend on how hyper they get, but... I sympathize with the secret-maker.

Well, I guess I can see why. Some Pokémon lend themselves to those situations. Bet it'd be even worse with something like a Grimer or Trubbish.
pianosongs: (dark angsty bishounen thoughts)

[personal profile] pianosongs 2013-04-27 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That is certainly correct. Trubbish... don't seem so bad, but it is truly unfortunate to have a Grimer no matter the circumstances.
islandshore: (... let's not go there)

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-05-03 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. A living trash bag isn't exactly what I'd call ideal. Especially once it's evolved...

But then, at least it has a bag to cover most of its garbage. That's a step up from a living heap of sludge.
pianosongs: (miserable)

[personal profile] pianosongs 2013-05-03 11:56 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. But... It is a little surprising to see the unfortunate creations of some of these pokémon.
islandshore: (listen)

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-05-03 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd say that out of all the poison types, those two lines have the short end of the stick. At least most other poisonous Pokémon resemble animals or bugs instead of putrid ooze.

It's less about the text and more about the clone parenting thing. John mentioned it before.

ectobiology
to be honest i think thats less weird than how humans usually produce

Human reproduction is... something all right. Guess it would be pretty strange if you were a different species first.

You'd think there'd be records of it, but I guess encounters with Legendaries are just rare, period. Wonder what it'd really take to defeat them.
babel_hacker: (Ice Cream | Chillin')

[Text]

[personal profile] babel_hacker 2013-04-27 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I'm curious about. High levels and types are a given. But their actual powers and what they can do are what we should worry about.

[Text]

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-04-27 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if those titans are any indication, they're more like gods and demigods than any other Pokémon. Plus, given the way they're worshiped in myths, they're probably a whole lot older, too.
babel_hacker: (Thinking | Is that so?)

[Text]

[personal profile] babel_hacker 2013-05-01 06:51 am (UTC)(link)
Even if they're practically gods, it doesn't mean they're invincible.

It's just basically fighting a very, very tough Pokemon. Maybe with bonus, annoying skills.

I wish everyone could just travel together, but some of my friends have been here for so long I feel like they'd maybe think I was dragging them down.
It was nice to finally meet all of them in person at prom, though!

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-04-27 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
See, people just need more incentive to get together. Throwing a few more parties and tournaments might fit the bill. It'd at least break up the monotony, anyway.
neededlassie: (smiling)

[personal profile] neededlassie 2013-04-27 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree! Prom was really fun!
...Maybe not so many people next time, though. Everyone can have their own parties.
islandshore: (le shrug~)

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-05-03 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not too hard to call up your friends and arrange something more private. Might take more work getting them together, but at least it's less suffocating that way.

Something tells me going straight against one is a recipe for death. But, if a group of us made a plan for them, they'd go down.

Everything can be beaten, after all. Even if it's dangerous.

[personal profile] islandshore 2013-05-03 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, everything's got limits. It's just a matter of finding those limits.

That, and finding them. Who knows where they've run off to?
