Yes, yes, you want to know why the weather's so screwy.
Well...
At the stroke of Midnight (EST) on Friday, October 29th, the music begins to go awry. It's not as noticeable at first, just a small skip in the pitch or beat, but as time passes, the odd noises become more frequent. By noon, it almost sounds like a brand new song...
In fact... it is a brand new song.
On loop, of course.
On Saturday, October 30th, at the stroke of midnight, your world of Johto is now... pixellated.
The most noticeable thing about this is that everything has turned block-like in appearance, except you, and everything on your person. The ground is a flat, even shade, save for the grass, which is one lego-like shape, repeated in a pattern until the sudden end of grass. Houses are oddly lego-shaped as well.
But what about the other people? The citizens of Johto walk in small, calm paths, repeating the same two or three scripted lines. Nurse Joy at the pokécenter will only offer to heal your pokémon through machine. No active conversations, no assistance, just bland, pixel-shaped words and a lack of reaction or caring. They can't be pushed down or injured, and they don't respond to anything you may yell at their cube-clumped faces.
This has also affected your pokémon buddies. Your pokémon will not leave their pokéballs unless needed for a battle or healing, instead of following you around. When called forth, they will also be oddly sprite-like in appearance and not respond much to anything other than simple commands.
And in every city, on every path, appearing and disappearing... there are missingno. Missingno are a bird/normal glitch pokémon that come in five forms: normal, ghost, Yellow, Aerodactyl, and Kabutops. All five will be floating around, unsuspectingly causing this entire disaster.
They may challenge you to battle, but, halfway through, they'll flee. There's no way to catch them.
There is a bonus to the pixel world! Each path takes a grand total of two hours to cross at a walking pace. Food and drinks are also pixellated unless it was in your pack, but you can still eat and drink them.
At around 6 PM, October 31st (Sunday night), everyone's pokégear will go off, flashing one message:
And then on November 1 at Midnight (EST), everything returns to same old Johto. :D
EDIT: AS INQUIRING MINDS WANTED TO KNOW... No, there won't be any ninth item duplicates, but there is going to be a giant pile of USELESS CANDIES in your bags, filling up your spaces and being unhelpful to your gut. Do enjoy~
