Hello, Routers! As we're moving into our second week of our Freaky Fusions plot, it's time to reveal some information about our last two days of the event! Please read this entire post carefully for further details!

THE BACKGROUND:
As some of you eagle-eyed players may have noticed, early on in this plot, the Rocket Admins have had more in mind for their Fusion Orb than just putting together a bunch of garden-variety Pokemon; after all, what's the point of doing anything if you're not going to go big or go home? And so, as the fusion infection spreads and research labs in both regions have worked day and night to produce devices that can successfully capture and contain a Fusion Pokemon —

Well, that means they've finally got all that they need to create and contain the real goal of their Fusion efforts. Thanks for that added bit of assistance, Pokemon Professors!

So! With the technology to create a Fusion Ball theoretically capable of holding their great creation, come Wednesday the Admins will be shifting their plan into the final stages, and seeing what happens when they shove their Mew Fossil (conveniently stolen for them by a team of PC Rockets during a mod-run Rocket plot several years ago) into the Fusion Orb, and attempt to get something new and great out of it.

Unfortunately, as with most instances of mad science, they've made a slight miscalculation. Which is why this monstrosity is coming soon to a bossfight near you:

SURPRISE.

SO THERE'S GOING TO BE A BOSSFIGHT THIS YEAR?
Yes there is! Like in previous years during our big October plots, our last two days of the event will be comprised of a big wacky boss battle, starring our very special guest, the Mewssingno. We hope you're ready for some action!

OKAY, SO HOW IS THIS BOSSFIGHT THING GOING TO WORK?
Once created, the Mewssingno will be escaping to the very aptly-named Birth Island, in the Sevii Islands. Unfortunately, because its "fusion" is with something inherently glitched, it's a little confused at the moment, and prone to what you might call "hasty decisions". Consequently, it's very possible that your character might also end up on Birth Island, completely by accident! Mewssingno is doing some funny things to the fabric of space/time, and as a result, you might just end up in a war zone with no warning — and no obvious way to get home.

Of course, there's always Mewssingno itself...

AND OOCLY, HOW IS THIS GOING TO WORK?
Good question! On Thursday, October 29th, we'll be putting up a log in

route_1065 set on Birth Island, where Mewssingno will be holed up, wreaking mild havoc, and generally distorting the world around it. Though landing a hit directly on Mewssingno will prove impossible because of the way it's shielding itself with glitches, there will be plenty of Fusion Abominations wandering around the island posing a threat to anyone who is brought there. You are free to launch attacks at Mewssingno as you please, and you may also NPC the Fusion Abominations as you see fit; the latter will be Pokemon Fusions not limited to just two 'mons per fusion. In other words, you might not just come across a Mr. Sir; you might end up having the misfortune of looking at a Mr. SandWeepinCruel. (In all its heinous glory.)

As in previous years, player participation will affect the outcome of the bossfight! Though we will not be using the threshold method we used in previous years to determine whether the scenario has been won or lost, there will be a window of time during which players participating in the plot will be asked to tag into the log with either one top-level comment or one response to a top-level comment, and show us proof of that!

On this infopost, we have created a Bossfight Participation Subthread. Between the time when the log for the Mewssingno Bossfight goes up and 11:59 PM EST on Friday, October 30, participating characters must tag into the log with either one top-level comment or one response to a top-level comment and then link us to it in that thread.

NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FIGHT THE BOSS IN ORDER TO HAVE "PARTICIPATED". So long as your character is there in some capacity for at least one tag, they get credit for showing up and will be counted as having participated for the purposes of our very special Halloween surprise.

Some suggestions of things you could do to participate in the log are:

• Attack Mewssingno
• Assist people who are attacking Mewssingno
• Give an inspiring speech to increase morale among the people who are fighting Mewssingno
• Fight the Fusion Abominations while other people fight Mewssingno
• Flee from the Fusion Abominations while other people fight Mewssingno
• Become imperiled and require assistance from someone else who is fighting Mewssingno or the Fusion Abominations
• Rescue someone who has become imperiled while you're fighting Mewssingno or the Fusion Abominations
• Scream in abject terror at the sight of Mewssingno and Fusion Abominations
• Run away from Mewssingno
• Throw a Pokeball at Mewssingno
• Throw a shoe at Mewssingno
• Throw everyone's shoes at Mewssingno
• Throw your best friend at Mewssingno
• Throw someone else's best friend at Mewssingno
• Attempt to take selfies with Mewssingno
• Eat a sandwich

The possibilities are endless.

• IMPORTANT NOTE: In the interest of fairness, there will be no "kill shot" with respect to Mewssingno on this log. The participation threshold is instead determining how events will proceed during the battle's ending and aftermath — because we've got some surprises in store for you!

DO I NEED TO SIGN UP IN ADVANCE FOR THIS PLOT?
Yes, we need to know in advance who intends to be coming along on the big finale of this wild Fusion ride. So if your character would like to come along for the bossfight (or if you intend to send them regardless of what they want), here's what we need you to do:

We've made a Participation Headcount Thread on this post, with a form to fill out stating some information we need from you — your name, your character, what Pokemon they morphed into (if applicable), and the six-member roster they are taking with them to the bossfight. Please note that you may only make changes to your roster selection up until Wednesday, October 28th at 11:59 PM EST, which is also when we'll be closing sign-ups for the bossfight log. After that, we'll freeze the thread and will not be permitting any more sign-ups or roster changes, so make sure you're solid before then!

IF I TRANSFORMED INTO A POKEMON, WILL I STILL BE TRANSFORMED DURING THE BOSSFIGHT?
Yes, you will! The professors will be releasing the antidote on Saturday, October 31, after the bossfight has concluded; you'll be able to change back then.

I DIDN'T TRANSFORM INTO A POKEMON. CAN I STILL GO ON THE PLOT?
You can! When filling out the participation form below, simply put "no transformation" or something to that effect when it asks you for what your character's fusion was.

SO WHAT DO I NEED TO DO FROM HERE ON OUT?

Sometime between now and 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday, October 28th:

• Respond to our Participation Headcount Thread with the information requested!

Sometime between now and 11:59 PM EST on Friday, October 30th:

• Make cool plans for how you're going to participate in this boss fight!
• Ask us questions if need be!
• Head over to the Final Boss Log once it's posted!
• Tag into it in some capacity with your participating characters!
• Link us to those tags on the Bossfight Participation Subthread!
• Encourage all your friends to do the same!
• Have fun threading around in the log until the Halloween Surprise is revealed!
