Kimblee is under the general understanding that he has some sort of ridiculous score to settle with her and is more or less under orders to completely obliterate her in battle; unfortunately for Archer, he really doesn't care and is just hoping this will prove entertaining. He's in it for the challenge, after all not anyone's revolution.
He tends to lead with Absol; perhaps one day he will change that, but today is not that day - if she's the sort to pay attention to that sort of thing, he's done this in the previous four battles as well.
