I should clarify: when I said 'a clutch is up to eight eggs,' I just meant that no one Pokémon can produce more than eight eggs in a go. Hence, only eight of those thirty could be Houndour.
But I like the idea of employing rarities as a method of cutting back on the eggs/species that should ostensibly be less common. It's a bit more complex, but more efficient, I think.
