It does absolutely nothing except look pretty, right now. It used to have the power to keep Cecil temporarily alive in Dissidia's world after Cosmos' death, but that ability would be kinda irrelevant in Route even during 4th Wall. Well, technically Cosmos can possibly see through them (the game didn't really explain that in detail), but that's also pretty useless.

Cecil would pretty much just poke one with the other to see if they blow up/sparkle prettily/do something even remotely interesting.
