Nope! If they've still got charge on their battery, they're not permanently out of the fight — the potential is still there for them to wake up and keep going. Battery charge is a necessary condition to being able to participate, but so long as you have it, your character can fall asleep, get knocked out via mundane means, lie still and play dead, whatever they want, and still not be KO'd from the battle permanently.
