That's right, it's time for another round of the EV Biweekly News!

Now that we've been running this project for a few weeks, we at the modteam would particularly like to get some feedback from you on what you think of the stories, what other things you'd like to see covered, what you'd like to see less or more of, and so on! So once you've finished with this round of the news, we'd like to encourage you to let us know your thoughts and comments on how to make EV News even better in the future!

And now, without further ado, we give you...

▶ ▷ ▶ GYM NEWS Θ ROSES ARE RED! • SPOTTED: Gym Leader BROCK paying a covert visit to the Pewter City branch of renowned high-class florist chain, Roselia Arrangements! A highly reliable source, who wishes to remain anonymous, called in with a hot scoop! "He wandered around the store for about twenty minutes," the tipster reported, "but wow, did it ever show that he had no idea what he was looking for! Finally he ended up calling his friend, the beautiful and talented MISTY of Cerulean City, for advice! I can't say any more than that, but I can say that whoever ends up receiving that package is in for a big surprise!" At our tipster's request, we've held this story until today, so as not to ruin Leader BROCK's thoughtful surprise! But wow, what a touching gift for some special someone! Θ AND JASMINE IS TOO! • SPOTTED: Gym Leader JASMINE receiving a large package from the Olivine City branch of renowned high-class florist chain, Roselia Arrangements! One of our ace reporters managed to get the breaking scoop and a firsthand comment from Leader JASMINE herself! "Oh, it's...oh, how pretty," Leader JASMINE whispered as she removed from the box a massive bouquet of pink and purple flowers later identified as Roselia Arrangements' specialty, the Secret Crush bouquet. "Is there a — wait, I should check the card. Let's see, it's from..." Leader JASMINE was unavailable for further comment, on account of turning bright red and speechless!

▶ ▷ ▶ CRIME NEWS Θ DEPARTMENT STORE RAMPAGE! • Officer Jenny and the Kangaskhan Police are currently investigating a recent incident of Pokemon mayhem in Goldenrod City! Chaos unfolded the afternoon of February 14th as several Pokemon, including a Swampert, Torterra, and Salamence, went on a rampage through the streets, culminating in a destructive incident at the famous Goldenrod Department Store! Information about these events is limited at this time as the police force attempts to sort out the facts. However, Officer Jenny is prepared at this time to call it an "attack" and strongly cautions all trainers in the area to be on their guard! "The last thing we want is to promote an atmosphere of fear, where people feel unsafe walking the streets," the officer explained. "However, as we get things sorted out, we're asking everyone to please be as careful as possible, and use good judgment in staying safe until we can bring these culprits to justice." Θ PSA: PROTECT YOURSELF! • Officer Jenny and the Kangaskhan Police would like to issue this Public Service Announcement: "We've been observing an unsettling trend of villainous Pokemon willing to attack trainers as well as other Pokemon lately. Because of this, we want to strongly urge trainers to exercise full caution when engaged in battle, or faced with a rogue Pokemon like the ones involved in the Goldenrod City incident. As a result, the Department stores have agreed to offer a limited-time P1000 discount on TM17 - Protect to any shoppers that show valid trainer or breeder credentials at purchase. Please consider investing in this useful move to help your team help keep you safe! Thank you."

Next week is looking to be beautiful and clear, with temperatures holding steady above freezing — good news for any trainers with travel plans! Θ A NOTE FROM MOM! • With so much gift-giving going on lately, don't forget to show your Pokemon some love, too! Why not treat that special Pokemon in your life with one of Mom's Pokemon-Safe Berry Smoothies? Remember, Starter Appreciation Day is February 23rd! Just mix two parts MooMoo Milk with one part each of Lemonade and vanilla yogurt, then pour it into a blender or shaker with a dash of Honey and a heaping helping of chopped Berries! Blend or shake until it's silky-smooth, then serve it chilled in a tall glass with a straw! Wow! What a sweet treat for some lucky Pokemon!

▶ ▷ ▶ SWARM NEWS Θ LOVE IS IN THE AIR! • It's mating season for VOLBEAT and ILLUMISE! Having projected unusually low numbers of these two Bug-type Pokemon this year, Pokemon Professors and Gym Leader BUGSY are watching this year's mating season with a critical eye! Though the height of the season concluded yesterday, coinciding with the nationwide voluntary blackout, the Professors are expecting to see heightened VOLBEAT and ILLUMISE activity for the next few days! "Though both ILLUMISE and VOLBEAT are the Firefly Pokemon, only VOLBEAT shine their light during a mating dance! The ILLUMISE use their sweet-smelling scent to draw invisible patterns in the sky, and the VOLBEAT follow along behind to draw the pattern with their glowing tails!" Θ PATCHING UP THE QUACKS! • Exciting news for trainers in Viridian, Celadon, Ecruteak, and Violet Cities — DUCKLETT may be heading your way and coming to stay! With particularly robust numbers of DUCKLETT this year, Pokemon Professors are projecting that the routes will become overcrowded, and some families of DUCKLETT will begin moving into the city ponds as a result! "A DUCKLETT's favorite food is peat moss, but they'll also eat just about anything — like some unsuspecting trainer's lunch! If you're planning a picnic near a DUCKLETT pond, keep a close eye on your sandwiches!"

NEWS Θ EGGING ON THE BREEDING! • There's loads of love in the air today at the YU AND YUUDAI BREEDING CENTRE in Goldenrod City, where a special convention for breeders is taking place as we speak! This convention, which ran all day today and will continue to do so through tomorrow, is a gathering of breeders the likes of which the city has never seen! With eggs up for grabs at affordable prices and plenty of opportunity to meet and greet new faces, we're confident in calling this convention an EGG-citing success! Θ DON'T FORGET: STARTER APPRECIATION DAY IS THE 23RD! • It's that time of the year again, trainers! Everyone's favorite holiday, Starter Appreciation Day, is Saturday, February 23rd! Have you done something special for your very first Pokemon Partner lately? Make sure to use this day to show your best pal some extra-special attention!
